Your systems should be striving and striving they are.” the Doctor begins. Janeway glares at him and he stops talking. “We are small now. You cannot understand what it is like to be Borg.” “No, but I can imagine.” Janeway tells Seven. “This drone is small now. Alone. One voice. One mind. Seven tells him that it is beyond his comprehension. “Try me,” Harry says. “Galactic cluster contains 22billion life forms.......” Seven keeps telling him all that she knows about Galactic Cluster three. “Oh,” Harry says. He places the meditaion candle by the window. As he looks out of the window he grows farther away and we see Voyager at impulse.

My Thoughts

"Tje Gift" is yet another one of those episodes that gets better after each viewing. The first time I watched it, I didn't really enjoy it. (This may be because I didn't want the character of Kes to depart from the show.) After I looked past the fact that Kes was gone for good, I began to see that "The Gift" was a very good, dramatic episode. Both Jennifer Lien and Jeri Ryan gave superb performances. All in all, this episode was a fitting goodbye for everyone's favorite Ocampa, Kes.
