Dinotopia: A Land Apart from Time by James Gurney |
This is a great book. It is about a father, Arthur Denison, and
his son, Will, being shipwrecked on a lost island with living dinosaurs;
it describes what life would be like if dinosaurs were around. It is fun
to read, it has great pictures, and it is really believable. You
can really think there is an island out there somewhere that still has
dinosaurs on it. I know I do... |
Dinotopia: The World Beneath by James Gurney |
This is a continuation of the book Dinotopia above. It
describes more of what life would be like around the dinosaurs. It
also has wonderful pictures and a great story. |
Dinotopia Lost by Alan Dean Foster |
This is another continuation of Dinotopia, six years after Arthur and
Will are shipwrecked; it focuses on more than just the Denisons, by describing
the every-day life of other dinosaurs and people, and another group of
newcomers to the island... |
Dinotopia: Sabertooth Mountain by John Vornholt |
This is about another lost, misunderstood species to us: sabertooth
tigers. They still live on Dinotopia as well, but their livelihood
is threatened by an avalanche in the Forbidden Mountains, their home.
This book describes life from yet another Dinotopian Citizen's point of
view. |
Dinotopia: River Quest by John Vornholt |
One of the unique features of Dinotopia is the Habitat Partners, human/dinosaur
pairs who look after the natural events of Dinotopia. The Freshwater
habitat partners have a dellemma: the Polongo River, the source of energy
for the biggest city in Dinotopia, has mysteriously dried up, and they
have to get it going again. This book tells about the Habitat Partners'
adventures to solve the problem. |
Dinotopia: Lost City by Scott Ciencin |
This book is about three kids searching for adventure, and finding
it in a lost city of secluded dinosaurs; they try to get these dinosaurs
to open up and join the rest of Dinotopia, and find themselves amidst the
problems of the inhabitants. It is a good book. |
Dinotopia: Thunder Falls by Scott Ciencin |
This book is about a dinosaur and a kid, best friends, but always in
a competition against each other. One must always be better at something
than the other, and neither can admit defeat. Circumstances force
them to change their ways, when they have to work together for the common
good. This is a very good story and an easy read. |
Dinotopia: Firestorm |
This is a book about the Habitat Partners of the Forests- There is
a strange disease affecting the Trilobur plant on all of Dinotopia! The
Trilobur is the plant which is made into a tea and served to adult Dinotopians,
which adds decades- even centuries- to their lives. If this plant
dies out, then the people of Dinotopia won't be able to live as long, so
two young Habitat-Partner Apprentice wannabes have to save them. |
