So They Say

They say a dragon is part of your soul,
a loving and forgiving heart.
They say once Impression has been told,
your minds will never part.
They say that your dragon is steadfast and true,
a loyal comrade, a friend;
But they say if you die,
or the one who can fly,
then both of your lives will end.

Some say that Dragons are big and mean,
those who know not their ballads.
Some say that Gold is better than Green,
but the riders attest what is valid.
Some say, of the dragons, to be sure,
it's all too good to be wary...
But others are brave,
their dignity saved,
for that act's not necessary.

They say if you're lonely,
there's hardly a cure,
but a Dragon could make you feel better;
They say if you're homely,
as some people were,
a Dragon could sniff out a fretter.
They say if you need it,
there's a Dragon for you,
but too many yearn for that touch;
One shouldn't believe all they say is the truth,
for "they" say entirely too much.
