Middle Age Combat
Have you always wanted to fight in the middle ages?
Who ever said you couldn't!
If you're willing to overcome your fears, I'm willing to tell you how to make weapons that won't cause any serious injury, and the rules that I play by.
Ok, it's cake. All the supplies you need you can find at your local hardware store. Here's the different weapons you can make, later I will add instuctions on how to make Maces, Quater staves, Flails, Spears, Two Handed Swords, and other middle age weapons.
To make a 30" Rapier here's how:
Materials you will need: A 30" section of 1/2 inch, scedual 40, 600 PSI, PVC pipe,
a 27" section of 1/2 inch pipe insulator and some 1/2 inch OSB chip board
Duct tape, electrical tape, and some old sweat shirt material.
Cost is about 3 dollars total.
ok here's how you start cut your 30" PVC pipe section, then cut a 4X4" square of chip board, and drill a 1/2 inch hole in the center of it,
slip the square over the PVC pipe down to about how much room you need for one hand(tape the guard in place),
now slip the pipe insulator over the longer section(the blade) make sure you leave a little on the end for tip padding. Wrap the pipe insulator totally in duct tape, also wrap the handle so the guard wont slip off.
(optional) wrap the handle in shirt material.. then in electric tape for good padding.
Make a couple and find a friend to play with.
To make a 20" Dagger here's how:
Instructions are the same as with the rapier accept shorter.
you'll need a 20" section of PVC instead of 30".
How We Play(Rules)
A hit on the arm renders it useless(you must switch hands if you're using the one hit),
a hit to the leg also renders it useless(you must drag it).
A hit anywhere on the chest or back is instant death.
Hitting in the head is illeagal, and does not even count as a hit.
That's pretty much it.
We use a number of weapons and players(say 4 on 4 players would make a good match.
