Shatterstar comes from an entertainment-oriented planet/dimension called Mojoworld. He was trained as a child to fight in the arenas to entertain the masses. No one knows anything about who his parents are, (don't even get me started on the story arc that promised and failed to reveal his origin.) Shatterstar lands on Earth looking for the X-Men, needing help defeating Mojo, the ruler of his planet, and instead finds the newly formed X-Force team. He clashes with them, and they are impressed by his skills, so after the dust clears, they offer him a spot, which he accepts.

When first arriving on Earth, Shatterstar shows no discernible sign of emotions, and somewhat disapproves of teamwork, and doesn't understand Earth's culture in the slightest. But he quickly gives teamwork a chance, and discovers his teammates like it when he saves their butts from getting fried, and gradually comes to understand Earth's culture, with the help of television. Shatty has a great friendship with Rictor (hehe I bet he does *snicker snicker*). Anyway, Shatty eventually comes to develop a set of emotions beyond rage and bloodlust, which catch up with him when Rictor leaves the team after AoA.(AWW all that learning ..wasted hehehe ooo I'm bad) But he gets all buddy-buddy with Tabitha, which helps.

While helping Siryn break Deadpool out of the Weisman Institute, he is told by Gamesmaster that he is really an Earth boy named Benjamin Russell, and the whole Shatterstar thing is just Gamesmaster's funny little joke. So, after the fight with Sinister and Onslaught, X-Force decides to find out what's the deal with Benjamin Russell and Shatterstar. The NYPD, who formerly had records on a young man named-you guessed it!- Benjamin Russell, has no information to give X-Force after the Onslaught thing. Russell was supposedly a resident of Boston, Massachusetts, so X-Force decides to fly up there and try and find some answers, but on the way they are intercepted by two Mojoworlders named Gog and Magog, who shunt them off to Mojoworld and kidnap Shatterstar. (The story arc that entails is too pathetic to go into detail about here, so I'm not going to waste my time on describing it). But we find out Shatterstar was killed on Mojoworld, and his soul was placed in the body of a comatose mental patient named Benjamin Russell, who happens to look exactly like Shatterstar. He's been just dandy ever since. (Though quite frankly, I'm surprised he hasn't had any problems with big guys swinging him around by his ponytail yet.) Why he was named Shatterstar, I have no clue. Some Mojoworlder decided it was a good name for him. And the name Gaveedra-Seven has been brought up in the comic, too. But I have no idea what that is for..I think he made it up to impress a girl once..hmm.

He left for Mexico with Rictor (hehehe I wonder why. Bwahhahahahaha) when Cable asked the team to take on new identities. *SNIFF* another great character demeaned by the Marvel machine...*sniff * I kinda liked him too... but NOOOOOO we just couldn't have a good character in THIS comic can we..why that would be..Onorthadox...!!! *sniff* L
