I am twisted and tangled in sheets that have been rendered sticky with sweat as thoughts tumble like avalanches through my head.

After seven years I finally believe that you have settled yourself within me, and you are where you want to be. I finally believe that I will soon be able to hold you.

You spoke to me tonight. Walls cracked and shattered that have been built around you for what feels like centuries. I looked at the blue oceans that are your eyes, and I knew you were telling me the truth.

All jokes about having David Crosby’s baby aside, I finally believe you have come to a turning point in your life, and in coming to that turning point, I finally believe that you have come to ease with yourself and where you are in your life, that you have accepted what has happened over the years, that you have come to ease with me.

You said to me once that you wouldn’t change a thing. I finally believe you. I told you once that you were my touchstone, and you said I was yours. I finally believe you. You told me once that you wouldn’t put yourself on the line for anyone but me. I finally believe you. You told me once that your place was with me, and you weren’t going anywhere. I finally believe you.

Most of all, I finally believe my heart, when it says that you are mine.
