Moonlight Plains
You step out into the knee-high grass of the plain. "These are the Moonlight Plains," explains Silvanon. "We've recently had a new type of animal move in. They're called Nixphe."
"Nixphe?" you ask. "What are they?"
"Well," Silvanon replies thoughtfully, "They all seem to have an equine base, but more that that, it seems to me that it's pretty random how they come out. I suppose that really there are three things that define a Nixphe: the symbols, the morphs, and how the babies are born.
"Wow!" you say, starting to get excited.
Silvanon considers you. "I can see that they've got your interest. I'll tell you a bit more about them. Maybe you'll even want to give a home to a few--they're adoptable. I'll explain."
Nixphe are an adoptable cyberpet, but they're also a simple game. The point of the game is this: to get lots of Nixphe. When you first start out the Game, there are three possible ways to get a Nixphe. You may have a limit of four Nixphe on your site from these meathods. They are:
1. Adopt a baby from the Moonlight Plains: Each week the herd here on the Plains will offer two unique babies for adoption.
2. Adopt a Set baby: If you're not worried about having a unique Nixphe, you may decide to adopt a Set baby. You will be assigned one of four babies. Your baby will be fully playable in the Nixphe Game, however, there will be other Nixphe out there that look just like yours. (Even after morphs.) If you request a Set baby, you are guarented a baby. This baby will count towards your limit of four.
3. Adopt a Nixphe from the Waiting Pool: There may also be Nixphe already made you can adopt. These are previously-owned Nixpeh that have either been traded in or abandoned. Don't worry, they won't be tramatized, Nixphe like change, and should be happy to try out a new home on your page.
So, you've adopted your limit of Nixphe babies. So, now what? Is there any way to get more? You bet! But, this part will take both luck and skill, because the only way to gain more Nixphe now is to request a morph that results in a Flaming. What's a Flaming? What's a Morph? Well, let me explain!
Each Nixpeh comes along with a set of symbols. When a Nixphe morphs, it changes it's symbols. A Nixphe's symbols affect a lot of things about it, including it's color, it's house, and it's coalition. I'll explain more about those later. For now, the important point is this: Every once in awhile, if conditions are just right, instead of morphing, a Nixphe will flame. It's a spectacular sight. But, even more interesting, when a Nixphe flames, it also becomes a mommy: a new baby Nixphe is born. This new baby will be given to whoever request the morph that resulted in the flaming.
So, now you can either learn about Nixphe Houses or, you can learn about how to play the Nixphe Game. After that, if you're still confused, take a look at the Nixphe Frequently Asked Questions List
So, what's your starting point to play the Game? You need to head over to the Orchard Messagepost updates on the Game will be posted there, and there's a new Nixphe Round every Saturday.
