Messenger of Life
T
hehe well known portrait painter, Joseph Aigner, tried to hang himself.
Mysteriously a Capuchin monk arrived and prevented the suicide. This
attempted suicide and prevention took place in Vienna late 1836. Four years
later, in Budapest, Aigner once again tried to hang himself to death. Once
again this attempt on his life was prevented by not only a Capuchin monk
but the same monk who had saved his life four years earlier.
Eight years passed and Aigner had taken on a revolutionary cause. Aigner was then sentenced to hang for his political activities. Once again Aigner was rescued from near death with the intervention the same Capuchin monk.
Still persistent at the age of 68 Aigner shot himself and took his life. The same nameless, Capuchin monk conducted Aigner's funeral ceremonies.
