The Love Of Your Life, Or The Person You Settled For?
Have you been in a relationship and ever stopped to ask yourself if you are truly happy? Did you find the one person in this whole world who makes you feel unconditionally loved and appreciated? Or did you marry too young or too fast or for the wrong reasons and then find yourself trapped or just comfortable and afraid to start over again?
Do you feel as if you settled for someone rather than finding the right one? Love is a very complicated and special emotion. It comes with so very many different parts, and each of us require a different combination of those parts to be truly happy.
We find parts of it in the people we meet and when we find enough of them in a single person, we try to make 'love' work. But like a giant spoked wheel that must be complete to turn, such is love. If there are spokes missing from that wheel, it will only be a matter of time until the entire thing comes crashing to the ground.
You can't just find someone that has some of the right things that you need and then hope to make up for it or to change them and think that they will eventually have all of what you need. It doesn't work that way, and if you have read this far into what I have written, then it is probably because this has struck a chord with you, and I think you have probably had this same feeling inside, but just never brought it out into the open.
I have fallen into this same pitfall, and you find yourself 10 years down the road, and your heart 10 years behind on love. But hopefully I have learned a lesson this time. Life has given me a second chance to evaluate my heart, and to make sure that the next time I fall in love, that it is with the person who truly completes me and allows me to complete her. The two of us will make the perfect wheel, forever turning and turning in eternal love.
Listen to your heart, and give it what it wants this time.... because if you don't, another 10 years of wasted heartache will be your only reward.
Allow me to tell you what my heart has told me... what it wants and what it needs from that special woman who will be the love of my life....
