One small hug for man, one giant leap for 'shippers!!

This will (hopefully!) be a regular feature of the newsletter, and this week's episode "Paper Hearts" (written so skillfully by Vince Gilligan) contains *so much* UST and 'shippyiness as to necessitate a list! (Not that we are complaining!:D)

What more can we ask for? Who else while watching this episode wondered if it was really happening? I mean, to put so much UST and 'shippyness in one episode? Even if it wasn't evident to most people, I know we all saw the underlying meanings of the little glances and looks.

1. During the teaser, Scully arrives on the scene as the forensic team is shoveling through the dirt. (Major bonus points to Mulder for *calling* Scully and telling her to come!) Saying, "Just give me a second," Mulder reaches out and grabs her arm, holding on to her for no other reason than pure physical connection! almost as if he feels that touching her will allow her strength to flow into himself.

2. Scully: "You do good work, Mulder," then leans in closer to his chair, watching him.

3. And when they go to where Samantha's body may be buried, Mulder is digging fervently in the dirt. Scully urges him to wait for a forensics team, saying, "Let somebody else do this." But Mulder keeps on digging, saying, "Help me, Scully!" And she does!!

4. And the soon-to-be infamous final scene, where they are discussing the last unknown body. After staring at each other as she crosses the room, Scully is standing next to a seated Mulder, assuring him they *will* solve the case. "Mulder, it's not Samantha, and whoever that little girl really is, we'll find her!"

"How?"

"I don't know... but I do know you." Mulder looks up from his desk, then back down again. "Why don't you go on home and get some sleep." Mulder smiles from ear to ear and laughs out loud at the irony of the statement, considering that it was his nightmares that began the whole thing. Scully closes her eyes, smiling grimly at the realization of what she has just said, when she and Mulder lean into each other, his head nestling on her stomach and chest as her hand goes gently to the side of his face. His arm curls around her hips in a tender embrace as her hand softly caresses Mulder's hair, lingering at the base of his neck for a few moments.

Now, who else's heart swelled and burst at this moment! Who else yelled, "Mulder touched Scully's bum!!"

This is the sign of true trust and love. Only your close, loving friends can make you laugh and smile after what Mulder went through. This just show how much Mulder values his relationship with Scully. Kudos CC and Co. for another outstanding episode.
