THE ENTERPRISES
Currently there have been 6 ships named Enterprise:
The original ship, registry number 1701, was a Constitution class ship. It was launched in 2245 from San Francisco Yards orbiting Earth. It's first commander was Captain Robert April, followed by Captain Christopher Pike.
The Enterprise became legendary under the command of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, who commanded her from 2264 up until 2269 for his first five year mission. This ship was refitted in 2270 when every major system was upgraded, a new bridge module was put in, and the warp-nacelles were replaced. This ship was destroyed in 2285 by Captain Kirk, who was preventing it from falling into Klingon hands during a rescue mission to recover the body of his friend and collegue Spock. The Enterprise-A was also a Constitution class ship. This was launched on stardate:8442.5 (2286) from the San Francisco Fleet Yards, Earth and was once again under the command of Captain James T. Kirk. It's most historic mission was when it helped in the Khitomer Peace Conference.

The Enterprise-B, an Excelsior class ship, was launched on stardate:9715.5 (2294). Her commander was Captain John Harriman. The ships maiden voyage resulted in the death of Captain Kirk as he successfully rescued the ship from the Nexus energy ribbon.
It's overall length was 467m.
The Enterprise-C was an Ambassador class ship. She was presumed destroyed near Narendra III in 2344. Her Captain, Rachel Garrett, responded to a distress call from the Klingon outpost which was under attack from the Romulans. It's overall length was 526m.
The Enterprise-D was a Galaxy class ship. She was launched in 2363 from Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards orbiting Mars. She was on a mission of deep space exploration and diplomacy, and like her predessessors, the flagship of
the Federation. She is under the Command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. It was 641m in length, had a cruising speed of warp 9.2 and a maximum warp of 9.6, and had 42 decks:
Deck 1: main bridge, Captain's ready room and Observation Lounge.
Deck 4: main shuttlebay and cargo bays.
Deck 6: transporter rooms 1-4.
Deck 8: crew quarters including the Captain's.
Deck 10: Ten forward.
Deck 11: Holodeck
Deck 12: Sickbay
Deck 36: Main engineering

In the episode 'All Good Things...' we saw another version of the Enterprise-D under the command of Admiral Riker. This mighty vessel had 3 warp nessels and a powerful phaser rifle.
The Enterprise-E is the sixth and most recent incarnation of the legendary ship. It is a Sovereign class starship. It has a total of 24 decks and is 685m. Like her predecessors, this ship is once again the flagship of the Federation. It was launched on stardate:49827.5 (2372) from San Francisco Yards. Her armaments include Quantum torpedos.
