This is an alliance of approximately 150 Planetary governments and colonies, united for mutual trade, exploratory, scientific, cultural, diplomatic, and defensive endeavors. It was founded in 2161. Federation members include Earth, Vulcan, and numerous other planetary states. It is governed by the Federation Council, which is composed of representatives from various member planets. The council meets in the city of San Francisco, Earth. The council is led by a Federation Council President whose office is in the city of Paris, Earth.
