My name is Vella Nor, but everyone calls my by my nick-name, "Hyper". For me there is only one speed, faster. Hence my fascination with warp fields.

I was born on the Mars Colony in 2353 but my parents moved to New Rysa when I was three. They were to help balance the newly forming ecosphere. Dad is a Xeno-biologist, and Mum a bio-engineer.

There weren't many children on the planet besides my three brothers and I, so we entertained ourselves throughout the station. it wasn't long before the many machines around us that were building our atmosphere and terra-forming our world, began to interest us. We became a plague to the Chief of Operations. Finally she decided to make us useful by teaching us and assigning us to help with maintenance. From then on there was no question of what my future would be. i was an Engineer.

Joining Starfleet was a hard decision. New Rysa is a budding agricultural colony now. Seeing its growth, knowing that my family and I had a share in creating it, was a very satisfying feeling. I thought about staying with the familiar and studying to specialize in hydroponic engineering, but I longed to grow and see new places, exploring and discovering.

At the Academy I learned about warp fields, sub-space field harmonics, and the speed of matter/anti-matter mix. It was music for my soul. I'd found my element.

When I graduated I was assigned to the Valiant. Only months after joining her crew, I faced the loss of many friends at Wolf 359 when the Borg attacked. My next service was aboard the Farragut. When I heard about the new design of Endeavour and her assignment, I requested a transfer.

I know that I'll be taking one more step away from family and home, but the same thing that pushes me to go ever faster, also pushed me to go further, "Where no one has gone before."

Nor always carried her personal Tricorder T.O.M. (totally obedient moron) with her at all times.

She now serves as Warp Propulsion Specialist aboard the USS Alliance.
