Vance is a typical ,though slightly tall, person with very few unique traits to him. Both parents were human ,both live on earth ,and raised a family of two sons. Vance is the older of the two, while his brother Jake is 3 years younger (not the Jake of Alliance though he does frequent bars from time to time) and his parents own a medium sized house in Illinois.

Vance's father, Eugene, had been enlisted in the Federation and worked on the small ship U.S.S. Dallas where he enjoyed a long and happy position as Crewmaster. Vance's mother, Sandra worked at a local hospital in the E.R.

Vance went through the normal 4 year regimen for officers for Starfleet. He graduated in the upper 15 percentile of his graduating class. Vance's interest lay in space exploration, and decided his ticket to the stars was as a security officer on a starship. This Vance was well suited for as he has training in a number of martial arts including some Klingon.

A loyal but shy young man,Vance has few close friends but is generally liked by all who know him (except the occasinal recalcitrant who must needs be thrown in the brig...which Vance will occasionally do in a friendly and professional manner).

Vance is excited about his assignment to the Alliance as it is his first 'tour'. He plans to put in his 20 years and retire, if fortune allows!

Vance's brother, Jake, is following in his older brother's footsteps by going to Starfleet Academy. Jake has set many records in scholastics due to a highly successful but illegal neural enhancement device--this is a sore point between the two brothers.

Vance looks forward to using his skills for the protection and security of the Alliance or any other ship he may be assigned to.
