Marlin Robins is a human male of African descent born on Earth in 2348 and raised on Lima Siera at the artists' Colony where his parents performed as dancers. He graduated Starfleet Academy at the age of 20 and married his childhood sweetheart, Janell Carrise soon after.

His first assignment was on the USS Brittain-A where his daughter, Sarin was born. Marlin loved Starfleet life, but unfortunately Janell didn't and after three years of trying to make their marriage work, they divorced so Janell could pursue her career as a musician.

Marlin next served aboard the USS Triste until joining the Endeavour. His service was exemplary during the first battle with the Khynah that left the Endeavour seriously damaged. Deciding to transfer to the Alliance with the rest of the crew from the Endeavour, was the hardest decision he has ever made, since it meant leaving Sarin behind to live with her mother. He enjoys music, painting, horses and poker. Marlin is single. He is 2 meters tall with black hair and brown eyes.
