Roman Anderson was raised in a farming community on one of the colonized worlds in what later became known as the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone. He was very close to his twin brother Phillip, and they both applied to Starfleet Academy. Phillip wanted to become a Security Officer and Roman, who was very skilled with mathematics and machines, wanted to be an engineer. However, Phillip disappeared after two years at the Academy. Rumors suggested he may have joined the Maquis resistance fighters.

The next year was a hard one for Roman, who did a great deal of thinking about what he wanted to do with his life. One result of his soul searching was a transfer from Engineering to Medical. He wanted a career more meaningful than fixing machines, and saving lives seemed like a god choice.

Roman excelled at his new studies. His obvious talent gave him the opportunity to serve on the Endeavour as his first long term assignment. He is trustworthy and intelligent officer. He is a Medical Technician.

Roman is dark skinned and of average build. He seems moody at times but is generally a good friend. He enjoys swimming and is a master at 3-D chess.
