Maria is the daughter of three generations of doctors. Her father was very disappointed that she opted to join Starfleet after finishing nurses training in med school instead of going on to become a full doctor. But Maria's personal philosophy is to never put life on hold, so she joined the Endeavour, and continues to study for her doctorate. She was recently transferred to DS 13 after serving two years aboard the Endeavour.

Maria is a human female age 24, 1.65 meters (5', 5") tall, 125 lbs.
