Vester, one of the station designers, has been commissioned by Starfleet to act as the 'Resident Architect'. As a safety precaution, Vester will remain on the station and perform routine inspections to monitor structural integrity and check for any weaknesses. This is be his job for one year and then his contract will end and he will be able to return to Earth.

A quiet, somber fellow, Vester has only problem with this arrangement: he's claustrophobic. Raised in a large family with 3 sisters and 5 brothers, Vester was a timid child and received little attention. As an adolescent he showed talent with both math and art and a caring teacher steered him towards architecture. He attended Quebec College and graduated early. Since then he has worked designing buildings of every possible kind. Working on the DS13 project has been his most involved and prestigious assignment since being hired by the Perry Brothers' Design Firm.

Vester loves music and soccer. He is not married and rarely dates. Most of his free time is spent creating more innovative and challenging designs for future stations or intricate buildings. He had hoped to one day become a senior partner at Perry Brothers' Design, but being assigned to such a mundane and simple task he wonders if perhaps he should look for work elsewhere. In the meantime, he worries about how to survive twelve months underground on a barren, airless moon.
