Stren was born on Vulcan. He lived there for two years, then his parents moved him to Earth. His mother began going to Starfleet Academy while his father stayed home and "Home Schooled" him. He had a hard time fitting in which was one of the reasons he was home schooled, another reason was Suvek was trying to teach him what every Vulcan must know.

After his mother graduated, the family returned to Vulcan for a brief time at the request of T'Laren's father. He was five at the time. Stourn, T'Laren's father, had to arrange Stren to be telepathically bonded to a Vulcan girl named T'Ling.

They then returned to Earth just in time to leave on T'Laren's first assignment, the USS Edison. Stren then lived aboard the USS with his parents.

He is a Vulcan male, 10 Earth years old and the son of Suvek and T'Laren.
