Rose tends to take responsibility for thing too easily and thing that are

Rose was born in 2358.
In her early life her mother and father had a stormy and contentious
relationship. This grew worse and worse, and more and more abusive until
Simon
Vogel descended into outright madness.
Following this, Rose's life became calmer but her mother worked outside
of the home, leaving Rose to be responsible for her brother, along with
a
succession of hired nannies.
Rose's Mother supported her children and nurtured them as well as she was
able but her recovery from her ordeal took a lot of time.
In recent years, Rose, her brother and mother have firmed up their
relationship and have put it on a more positive basis.
Rose joined Starfleet out of a need to make her own course in life, but
an uncertainty about just what she wanted to do with herself. In the Academy
Rose determined that she would reach the pinnacle of Starfleet Accomplishment,
the command of a Starship.
