WELCOME !

TO THE

LADY CEIRDWYN

FLAG WAVERS PAGE!

THIS PAGE IS DEDICATED TO THE LOYAL FOLLOWERS OF OUR LADY WARRIOR, CEIRDWYN!

WE ARE ALL DRAWN TO THE CHARACTER OF THE CELTIC WARRIOR, CEIRDWYN BECAUSE OF THE STRENGTH, INTEGRITY AND COMPASSION SHE REPRESENTS.

We are the flag wavers for our brave Warrior Lady Ceirdwyn. As we follow her leadership, she teaches us to be loyal to one another and to defend all others from evil. No one is ever denied food or shelter while under her protection and all are defended against oppression from those with a lesser code.

Her grace and dignity, beauty and honor are inspirations to us as she teaches us that nobility is a thing defined by one's actions and not a title.

She shows us compassion and forgiveness are sometimes as important in defeating our enemies as winning the war, and being faithful to ourselves and our personnel code of honor is sometimes a far superior thing to winning the battle.

This small band of warriors thank her for her ideals which we strive to attain with bravery and honor so to be worthy of her praise. We the Flag Wavers for our Warrior Lady Ceirdwyn are united in purpose and the fellowship of love and honor!

FOLLOWING IS OUR ILLUSTRIOUS GROUP OF CEIRDWYNITES!

CHIEF FLAG WAVER

DR. MONICA VEASEY, MsD.

CAPITANA

I am 47 and  have three cats and four dogs. The dogs I adopted, the cats adopted me! Actually I started watching the Highlander the TV series first before I saw the movie. Afterwards, I watched the movie and still liked the series better! Adrian Paul {{{{{*****}}}}}.

I love Xena too and watch every week, even the reruns. I also like Hercules. I am a big Star Trek The Next Generation fan and watch all those shows too! Also like DS9. I am a founding member of a Star Trek Writing Club. I am also a Metaphysician, Minister,  Writer and Seamstress. You should see my star shaped pillows!

KATHERINE PERRY

NUMBER ONE

I am a single parent with two grown children. Grandmother of one. I work as an Instructional Associate to the Biology Dept. at a local community college in Southern California. I am recently returned to the martial arts after a 15 year hiatus and am looking forward to the physical and mental rewards the dicipline has to offer. Since 1982, I have done local professional, regional, community and college theatre as a character actress/singer...It is my plan to use this training in the future to *supplement* my retirement.

JUDI SOUTHWELL

MASTER SQUIRE

I am married (29 years) and we have one daughter who is married and has four children. They live in Oregon and we live in Colorado, so we do not see much of one another. My Dad has lived with us since his heart attack 2 years ago. My Mom lives in a Alzheimer's care facility. My husband's name is David and he is my best friend. I enjoy serving as a Beta reader and being Katherine's Squire as well as Tai Chi, reading and of course, Highlander!

TAM NESBITT

I work at the University of Miami, in Arts & Sciences Undergrad Advising - clerical work, some advising, etc., etc., etc. I'm 42 and happily single (came perilously close to the M-word several times, but escaped just in the nick of time), and I live with my grandmother, who's a spry, nay *feisty*, 87 year old. My animals are my reason for being - 24 (no, that's not a typo) cats, 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, and 21 rats. Any "spare" time and money I have is spent on local cat rescue efforts. Besides animals and, of course, HL, I love reading, writing (poetry and short stories), drawing, music (Celtic - traditional and rock, movie soundtracks, opera), Arthurian legend, Xena: Warrior Princess.... and I'm sure plenty of other things I've forgotten. Wish list includes a number of swords, a cabin in the woods, and a team of sled dogs.

I've been a Highlander fan since the first movie. I couldn't interest anyone in going to see it with me, so I walked to the theatre alone.... and returned walking on air. Swords! Wild Scots! Oh yeah, I'm also from Maine originally (I *hate* Miami.), of mostly lowland Scots ancestry with a dollop of Delaware Indian thrown in for good measure.

DEBRA WALLACE

Also a Methos FW, I am a single 33 year old lawyer. I made my way into law by a rather circular route. When I got out of college I didn't know what I wanted to do -- I worked for a few years and then headed off to grad school in anthropology. I still love anthropology, but I realized that even if I actually managed to write my Ph.D. dissertation (a prospect that was giving me nightmares as my qualifying exam approached), I'd probably never get a job in such a pathetic market. Plus I was getting a little tired of checking my back for knives sticking out of it put there by our "friendly" department professors <eg>. So I decided to take my masters and head off to law school (no more looking over my shoulder).

I very big into sci-fi. Like our CFW I am a big Star Trek fan (TNG & DS9 especially) and that's actually how I "met" our fearless leader (of course then we found out that we both love HL!) I've watched HL from the beginning. I started because I liked the 1st movie and I remembered AP from War of the Worlds. I kept watching because the show is awesome and AP's gorgeous (of course, my loyalties as of late have shifted to Peter <g>). I love Ceirdwyn -- HL needs more strong women characters -- and I hope TPTB bring her back soon (she and Methos could get involved -- works for me).

KAREN SMITH

Well, what can I say? My name is Karen Smith and I'm 27 years old. I am an operator/assistant at the Utilities Protection Center (Call Before You Dig - Georgia). I have been married for almost 4 years. My husband, Steve, and I have two cats - Bo and Tabitha - who live with my parents. Steve's allerggies/asthma prevent them from living with us :-(. How did I find Highlander? Well, I stumbled across H:TS one afternoon on USA and fell in love with it. We bought the movies the next day and have been completely hooked ever since. We are also quite devoted to The X-Files and Nash Bridges (what can I say? Don Johnson still drives me wild!) BTW, my Scottish roots - my g-grandmother was a McCalman. Although the spelling has changed thru the generations, we are septs of the Clan Buchanan who were from Loch Lomond. I write a little fanfic but have not yet been brave enough to post any of it. I love all types of music and am a history nut - especially military history.

NANEEN ORTIZ

FW for Cierdwyn. I am 28 years old, originally from New York (South Bronx, born and raised 3 blocks from Yankee stadium), and of Puerto Rican heritage. I presently live in Philadelphia working as a Marketing Assistant/Graphic Artist for a large corporation. I came to Philadelphia to attend University of Pennsylvania in 1987 (BA in Architecture '91) and ended up staying. I live with my starting-law-school-in-September significant other of seven years, who also enjoys Highlander, but is not as obsessed as I am. In addition, I am taking all the prerequisites for Medical School, and I plan to apply to medical school for the class of '98. I love movies(everything from art house films to b-grade action flicks); and reading biographies, histories, science fiction/fantasy, mysteries, literature and just about anything I can get my paws on. I love to bike ride (I commute to work and do all my grocery shopping on my bicycle), in-line skate and just play. I have a dog, named Boots, who is a cocker spaniel, poodle mix. I have been dog-sledding, it's awesome. And my wish list includes, a great house in the woods, a great bike(or three), lots of dogs, and maybe even a sled. Future goals: becoming a doctor, getting a black belt in a marital art, and bicycling a double century (200 miles). Other TV shows I like, NYPD Blue (my father was a Captain at Riker's Island Prison), Law and Order, Profit, The Kindred, X-Files, Lois & Clark, Xena, Seinfeld, and I'll even admit to watching Dr. Quinn (I watched a little too much Little House on the Prairie when I was small <bg>)

PAULA SLATER

My name is Paula Slater. I'm 29 and newly divorced. I am currently a grad student working on a PhD in Economics.Health and education are my primary fields so don't ask me to forecast any trends! <g> My eventual job goal is to work for a state gov't agency or legislative body. Or a small college teaching. Right now I just want done!

I have a surrogate child in my puppy. She's my baby and she's spoiled rotten! I would love to have several animals, but my one-room apartment says otherwise for the moment. My current interests are Highlander, music, science fiction, and my puppy!

ADA LIO

Ada Lio I'm a 23 year old student attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick majoring in Exercise Science and Dance. I currently have two jobs which involve working for B. Dalton Bookstore and the Rutgers University Computer Centers. I love dancing and my favorite choreographer of all time is George Balanchine with the New York City Ballet who passed away several years ago. I plan to be a physical therapist helping out dancers with their injuries. Some shows that I watch often are Highlander of course, Star Trek, Deep Space 9, Lois and Clark, and Friends. I am interested in foreign cultures and speak four languages. My parents are from China and I'm proud to be a first generation American of Chinese descent. I'm a workaholic and can't sit still for too long and often tackle several things at once. I think I'll be in school for the rest of my life it seems cause I've definitely have been here too long. I love foreign films, can't get enough of them and my all time favorite has to be "Like Water for Chocolate" although "The Wedding Banquet" comes a close second. Anyways, I hope that this gives a little insight as to what I like to do with myself. I forgot to mention that I love poetry especially Pablo Neruda's poems, and one day plan to publish what I've written.

NANCY MELITO

Greetings and Salutations! Yes, it is true! I, Nancy Melito, the esteemed Self-Appointed Keeper of the List Pantheon, Chief Truffle Maker to the List, and anything else I can think of for purposes of impressing the daylights out of you, would in fact be honored if you would have me within your ranks. I have deliberated long and hard over the issue of Flag Waving, and have decided that Ceirdwyn is the place for me. If I had a HL immie life, I would most likely end up as Ceirdwyn did, espousing the same choose-peace-but-never-stop-training-and-keep-your-sword-handy attitude that she does, while dispensing hard justice when necessary. I would like to see more of her and her life, and being a current devotee of Xena, as well as a Norman wanna-be (have you ever seen Mighty Max?), she comes the closest to my fantasy life fulfillment. Now I have to confess something (it's okay, it's not THAT bad, you can peek out from behind your fingers.) I would not be comfortable calling myself a Ceirdwyn FW unless I was willing to undertake the warrior lifestyle. But the show has persuaded me to take up ju-jitsu, which is nasty, brutal, devious, underhanded, sneaky, and lethal if one wishes it to be. In short, it's delightful! I had studied karate for three years when I was a teen, and meant to get back to it, but then realized standard karate wasn't enough. Besides, I got tired of seeing all those nifty overhead throws and joint locks, and watching other people have all the fun! So I opened the county rec paper, looked at the description of ju-jitsu, said, "Oh,wow! That looks different!" and here I am, a year later, still loving it. In Denver I want Adrian to sign one of my belts. So, now that you have the lowdown on me, I would be privileged to consider myself one of you.

ANGIE BRUNK

I have extensive equestrian experiance. I belonged to a mounted Girl Scout troop in jr/sr high. I will ride western tack most of the time because it is most stable, but will revert to a Mexican Sidesaddle with stirrup on the off side for formal occasions.

Bio: I am a senior political science major at Baker University. where I am also very active in music and other acitvities. I am editorial page/insight and online editor of the school newspaper, jazz trombonsit and classical soprano. I'm also the national treasure of an honor society and a member of a social science honorary. I'm secretary of the local Macintosh users group. I also spent a semsester studying in England. In the real world (?) I plan to get a masters in library science, a degree in historical conservation/preservation and a PhD in history. Ideally, I want to work as a conservationist and teach.

ALIX D. SINCLAIR

I chose my e-mail address name because of our Ceirdwyn and what she stands for. Also, long before HL, I wrote a short story with a character who had that name. I was thrilled to see that HL used the name for one of their characters. I am a big fan of Celtic mythology and history.

SARAH NUNN

I am 47 years old and I am married to a Vietnam combat vet who hates crowds so we live in remote northern Minnesota, 15 miles to the nearest town. I have two children: Gilead who is 16 and Willow who turns 13 tomorrow. Both kids were born at home since we follow a pretty 'back-to-nature' life style, although I would be lost without my computer & my satellite TV - How else would I get to watch HL? We are also practicing Wiccans with a tradition based on Ukrainian, Egyptian & Celtic roots - I think the Celtic part is why the Ceirdwyn ep of HL has always been my favorite. I am a potter by trade although I also paint fantasy T-shirts and do small business computing as side businesses.

We live on a 120 acre farm surrounded by federal & state owned forest. We have two horses, 3 dogs (my son is convinced that one is an immortal, but that's a whole different story <g>), 1 duck and 3 guinea pigs besides all the wild creatures that share our place.

I really do wish that HL would feature Ceirdwyn-- if not in a spinoff then at least in another episode. The ep she was in remains my all time favorite (Take Back the Night)- I've about worn out my tape of it by rewatching it over & over & over & over.....

DIANE CARLSON

Diane, age 42, lifeline SF fan, Highlander fan since the beginning. Member of PEACE and the (_|_) Immortal Ladies. I am married to a great 6'2" eyes of almost blue guy, living in Lexington, MA with our 2 cats, Isis & Mariah, and a great garden. I work for the Mass. Horticultural Society (creating their Web page) and have my own business designing and hand-knitting sweaters. I am also a member of the Broom Brigade. As to my horse, I really love those Nordic horses which are short and ride as smooth as velvet. They may be small, but do they know how to give a good ride!

TONI C. HOLM

The radio station that my partner & I own celebrated it's 7th birthday with a party for almost 500 "loyal listeners". For entertainment our staff did a take off of an old TV game show - we called it "Let's Mixx a Deal" (the station is called Mixx 96 fm KXXO), where one of our staff dressed as "Monty 1" went amongst the crowd offering prizes for odd objects they might be carrying. Then five contestants came on stage for a bonus round where they chose between known prizes and unknown choices behind "Box #1" etc. We had three tuxedo clad "Monty Hall" look-alikes (one female, two male) to host and I fulfilled a lifelong ambition to play "Carol Merrill" holding and pointing at all the goodies. Luckily it was a non-speaking part because I had the cold from hell <tm> and had lost my voice.

Jan 17-20 (1997) I attended a Forever Knight weekend event called "Bridging the Knight" hosted by the fan club of Nigel Bennett who played Lacroix on that show. We were well entertained and the weekend's charity auction raised over $48,000 (US) for charities in Toronto. John Kapelos (Don Schanke from FK) gave an impromptu and hilarious one-man show in lieu of a canceled panel and we also were treated to guest appearance from Nansuko Omaha (Amanda Cohen) Jon Cassar, Gary Reick and P.N. Elrod.
