I am 85 years old and this event happened to me when I was around 30 and it still remains just as clear to me today as when it happened.

My younger sister, Houston was not a bad girl, but one who was easily influenced by others. She also liked to have fun. One day Houston’s new girlfriend, Mildred was trying to get her to go with her to a roadhouse (bar) with her. Houston’s husband was out of town and Mildred was wanting to have fun and wanted someone to come with her.

Now, Mildred was what we used to call a “loose woman” back then so I felt that she would lead Houston into trouble if she went with her to this roadhouse.

Since Houston was my younger sister, I had always felt a responsibility for her—to try and keep her out of trouble, especially since I knew her husband was out of town. If he found out Houston went to this place, he would be very angry with her and she would be in real trouble.

I took it upon myself to visit Mildred while Houston was with her and told them that I didn’t think it was a good idea for Houston to go to the roadhouse. Mildred and Houston both got very angry at me for telling them this. I became frightened that Mildred was going to hit me as she was quite a bit larger than I was and much stronger. I am a petite lady and not very strong.

Mildred confronted me and came very close like she was going to hit me and I just prayed silently to God to protect me.

When I did, I saw in my mind’s eye a clear bubble surround me and this overwhelming sense of peace came over me. I knew then that Mildred could never hurt me! I was protected because what I had tried to do was the right thing!

Houston never did go with Mildred that day and so she didn’t get into any trouble. Although I didn’t see an angel, I knew for certain that my guardian angel was with me and kept me from all harm. God answered my prayers and sent his angel to watch over me. And I know that angels watch over me to this day!
