NOTES
In the TNG episode "Bloodlines", Cmdr. Riker mentions that the Ferengi government is debating an
amendment to the
Rules of Acquisition. (stardate 47829.1)
We know from Quark (The Maquis, Part I) and from Pel, (Rules of Acquisition) that there are 285 Rules of
Acquisition.
Quark mentioned rule #223 in "Profit and Loss".
Pel may have invented what she said for the rule #103.
It seems that Quark violated rule #112 when he was younger.
All rule numbers marked in italics (in yellow) indicates that the rule is one of the Grand Nagus' revised rules in
"Prophet Motive".
These revised rules were never officially released.
Some of the rules listed here are "Non-Canon" meaning that they are not official (i.e. from the TV series).
These rules come
from both TNG & DS9 comic books and paperbacks. They are listed here however, because they seem to fit.
Pocket Books recented printed a book called "The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition" which included most of
the rules from
the series & added many more... almost one-quarter of the rules have now been "uncovered." Those rules from the series
were not documented from this book as well, only the "Non-Canon" ones.
Some rules have been listed with duplicate numbers. This is not a mis-print. Both of the two sources have
the same
number rule. In all cases, both sources have been Non-Canon. So, both rules & sources have been listed for
completeness.
