Well, well well, you have come at last...
Don't wory I won't tell you anything you don't allready know, I'll
just remind you of a few things you may have forgotten.
And by the way, in my opinion if you are reading this you probaly have
too much time on your hands. But go ahead, read on.
I blame the first mistake on the traditional fantasy campaigne, where all of the players who have absolutly nothing in common are gathered together, seemingly at random for their first adventure and are expected to exit a coherent party. Well you folks are doing quite well in maintaining your own little secrets, but most people just accepted the fact that everyone started off together in that party. Everyone was so intent on getting out that, no one thought to ask, why are they all here? But you all had individual adventures, and I don't believe in massive coincidences. Something as important as bringing all of the pcs together surely has a deeper purpose. Maybe you all have something in common after all.
The next mistake is in thinking that all of the adventures are individual, they're not. There is a running plot (maybe more than one) and it requires every adventure. Something that happens in one adventure may not be resolved or revealed untill much later, and you can be sure that you will not immeadiately understand everything that happened durring an adventure by the time you get xp. A few people have caught on, takeing elaborate notes of everything that happens, cause they know they are going to forget stuff. Unfortunately they have also discovered that other characters can read as well. Next time look carefully over BOTH shoulders.
Events will happen, things will be done, the army of npcs is hard at work. You can either watch things happen, and have no effect on the outcome, or become a part of them. There are watchers and instigators, you are either one or the other.
