Courtney: It felt like 4 minutes ago. It was a year ago-exactly--right now.
Conan: And their making this new one which they are promising is scarier that the first one? Is that right?
Courtney: Yes. Sequel's always have to be scarier, and theres as to be a larger body count, there's like certain things you got to do for a sequel.
Conan: More death this time around!
Courtney: A lot more death.
Conan: Just in time for the holidays!
Courtney: Yeah.
Conan: Now they used the same convention I guess in this movie that they used in the first one that the killer is calling on a cellular phone. Is that right? Courtney: Umm, yea he does like to communicate using a cellular phone.
Conan: Yeah-he's familiar with all the latest technology! I'm curious-who is the guy that does that voice? In the movie-in SCREAM 2. Who's the guy who is the killers voice.
Courtney: Well, thats interesting cause Wes Craven-our director wouldn't tell us where the voice was coming from. He wouldn't let us see who the voice was. Because he didn't want to demystify it or anything. So we were doing this scene where David Arquette and Jamie Kennedy and myself and were talking and the killers voice comes on the cellular phone. And between takes you'd get a real urge to talk to the guy.
Conan: Like- "Who is this guy?"
Courtney: Yeah-so I'd like pick up the phone and say "What are you wearing?" And he'd be like- "DIE BITCH!" And I'd be like "Alright buddy!"
Conan: What?! He stayed in character?
Courtney: Yeah.
Conan: Oh-my-god thats horrible.
Courtney: Yeah, he's pretty crazy.
Jerry: Very exciting.
David: You can't tell anything-its one of those things thats very secret.
Jerry: I can't tell who the killer is-please don't ask me.
David: Ok, who's the killer in this?
Jerry: *Laughs* Bob and Harvey Weinstien co-chairmans of Mirimax had us sign these 100 million dollar wavers stating if we gave the ending out we would be liable for all that money. So-my mouth is sealed.
David: Yeah-what if we sent you a couple a strippers?
Jerry: Then we could talk. *They Laugh* You know-I am sure they have a couple of snipers in the audience right now locked no my head with a green light to take me out.
David: It is snipers or stripers? I am confused. But you know what I'll tell ya I like about (and then he goes into that speech again about hating movies which cost a lot to make and then make theme parks out of them and that he likes the ones that only cost a little bit and then make a whole bunch.) Jerry: It was great because- I mean the cast was just phenomenal. You had Courtney Cox here a while ago, Neve Campbell.
David: Easy on the eyes.
Jerry: Your tellin me! You know-I mean here we are in Atlanta for two months and were shooting there-and were all going [out] together-all 12 of us-the whole cast. And when your wedged in a booth and Courtney Cox is on your right and Neve Campbell is on your left-your pretty much on the top of the world David. I mean-that does a lot for your self esteem. Where were these girls prom night when I was going to the prom with my brother. You know?
David: And you get to be friends with these women?
Jerry: Yeah man! I think we ahh- *audience laughs hysterically* No-uh-don't get me in trouble here. We had a great time. I think we went to every bar in Atlanta at least twice. And there were about 10,000 of them there. It was such a great cast, it was such a great time.
David: But beyond normal socializing that a cast might do-was there flickers of romance?
Jerry: None that I saw. I'm a-I-I wish. Lets put it that way. Put in a god word for me Dave, ok?
David: Oh-yeah-you'd get a lot of help from me.
Duane: You bleeding?
Sinbad: I'm bleeding. I'm sorry man-I'm sorry-ever since that movie SCREAM 2--I just--
Duane: You might be the killer!
Sinbad:Nah-I don't want to start no rumors-I'm bleeding even more. Don't worry about it-don't worry about it-I'm cool. I don't want you to have a flash back or nothing.
Duane: Nah-I'm cool.
Sinbad: Now, speaking of SCREAM 2, I know you ain't supposed to tell nobody-do you die?
*There is a few seconds of silence* Duane: We signed a secrecy contract and we can't tell--
Sinbad: Ho-ho-ho-ho! You are talking to Sinbad and Vibe-we ain't going to tell no body. This is just for us! Just for us! Do you die?
Duane: I'll tell you in your ear.
*Duane whispers in Sinbad's ear* Sinbad: *he laughs* He uh-he either dies or lives. You just know a black man got a good chance of getting wacked. If you on Star Wars we know you die-but you got a chance in this movie man. Now-what was it like working with Was Craven, he let you improve a little bit right?
Duane: Aww man, Wes was great. You know-working on the movie was like you know-the first one was so successful-it was like being on the Bulls after they've won the championship. Its like everyone on the set is confidant and relaxed and know their place-they know its successful and I'm like the new guy.
Sinbad: So you walk in and all these players were in the first one-how'd you feel walking in?
Duane: I was like-I just want to fit in.< I don't want to step on anybody's toes, I don't want people telling me-"Hey watch yourself, this is my movie."
Sinbad: Cause they could kill you. Folks were droppin off in that movie. Lotta knives on the set-you don't want to make anybody mad.
Duane: Nah-It was a great experience. Wes was the most-you would think this guy is like you know, really dark and gloomy all the time-this guy, while he is shooting the movie-he is doing a crossword puzzle. Thats how laid back it is.
Sinbad: But thats what most killers do-they throw you off like that. Like Jeffrey Dawmer used to do crossword puzzles. 'Lets see-what the third word for vegetable-- MAN!'
(They laugh and then set up the clip they are going to show. Its when they are out on the bench by the tree right before Joel leaves.) Sinbad: See now-thats you talkin'. They didn't write that did they? That was your little thing?
Duane: Well-Jamie Kennedy who's in the scene-he comes from stand-up and between takes I was just throwing stuff out there and he was like-"Hey man-why don't you try it?" I was like "No man-I don't want to get shot down." But he was like "Nah-nah thats not how we do stuff around here. Just try stuff and if we don't use it we will just try another take." So they gave us freedom to just add lib stuff. So my first day-my first scene was with Courtney Cox right? And Wes was like-have freedom-thats how we are here-so I tried to add lib a couple of things and I went over to Wes after the take and he was like- "Your family and my friends wouldn't want to see that."
Sinbad: So basically he said it sucked.
Duane: Yeah, and I was like-oh snap. And I wasn't going to try and add lib no more-but in comedy you gotta just keep coming. You gotta just keep it coming cause one of them is gonna nail and you're gonna look golden. He was encouraging after that and just shot me down that one time.
(Then Sinbad gets into this whole thing about being angry with Duane for getting roles her didn't and for getting the girl he wanted and he acts like he is getting madder and madder till the screen just goes black and we hear screams while they start flashing these lightning bolts on the screen and Duane is yelling-"I'm just here to promote my movie!" over and over and then a few more screams and then it comes back to the set with Duane yelling "911! 911!" and Sinbad has the Ghostface mask on and is stabbing Duane. Duane acts dead and Sinbad slowly takes the mask off.)
Sinbad: Check out SCREAM 2 in theaters everywhere!
(Then he jumps back on Duane and Stabs him a few more times.)

Its SCREAM 2 and it makes being a sequel part of the script."
(The it cuts to more clips from the movie.)
Randy: The way I see it someone is out to make a sequel-so its our job to observe
the rules of a sequel."
Neve Campbell during an interview: The first horror film was about the horror
jandra and how that affects us today-and this one is about how sequels are responded to
and what sequels do for us.
(Back to some more clips.)
Randy: Number one, the body count is always bigger.....number two, the death
scenes are always much more elaborate."
Leanza Cornett: (while they show more clips) "The makers of SCREAM 2 have a lot to live up to after the first films blend of chills and satire grossed over 100 million dollars. so whats new this time?"
Courtney Cox during an interview: It starts off on a collage campus-Neve Campbell's character no goes to collage, and I've written a book that was made into a movie and its called STAB!"
Wes Craven during an interview: "There's even a film within SCREAM 2 which is a Hollywood version of SCREAM 1 that is playing in local theaters-so we had a lot of fun doing that.
Flash to clip of the blond chick thats interviewing Tori Spelling with the STAB! poster behind them.
Tori's Interviewer: Tell us about how this part your getting rave reviews for.
Tori Spelling: Well-I play this young girl-Sidney Prescott-who discovers her
boyfriend is this crazy cereal killer."
Leanza Cornett: "The cast of SCREAM 2 can't say much about their new movie, the whole plot is being shrouded in secrecy."
Neve Campbell in interview: They made us sign contracts saying we weren't really aloud to discuss it at all.
(They show some more clips.)
Gale: so you just want to sit here and wait to see who drops next?
Jerry O'Connell during an interview: Two armed guards with oozies brought the
script to my house when I first got it, printed on non-xeroxable paper. You could barely
read it let along copy it. We didn't even know the ending till a couple days before we shot
it. We didn't even know who the killer was till we got the final scene.
They show yet some more scenes from the movie.
Randy: You want to be one of the big boys? Manson, Bundy, O.j.?!?!"
Leanza Cornett: "But here is one thing on the record. SCREAM 3 is already in the works. Guaranteeing horror buffs a bloody good time till the millennium."
(They show some more clips.)
Killer's Voice: Whats your favorite scary movie?
Jerry: 40 thousand? 40 million.
Conan: Thousand, million. 40 Million Dollars in one weekend.
Jerry: I only get 10% of that Conan-its horrible. Thats a joke-its a joke.
Conan: You're not seeing much of that 40 million. No-you've worked your way up.
Jerry: Its very exciting when your film makes more than the grossed national product of Guam. You know-it's a-its a--
Conan: Exciting and wrong. Don't you think? Just wrong-its immoral some how. You do a song in this movie. Are you a singer?
Jerry: I am not a singer at all. I have to do this whole song and dance routine-I have to sing Sean Cassidy's 'I think I Love You', form the Partridge Family.
Conan: Have to or wanted to?
Jerry: Had to-forced to. And I would train by going to this really cool Kariokie Bar.
Wendsday, December 17th
Sarah Michelle Gellar on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Sarah: Its Mirimax's biggest opening-it was 39.2 million.
Jay: Thats pretty amazing.
Sarah: It was unbelievable.
(They set up the clip they are going to show and then show the clip. Its right before when the killer jumps out at Cici when she picks up the phone at the sorority house.)
Jay: Thats great.
Sarah: We were at the premiere and all of the sudden people were like *shots* "Don't answer the phone you stupid girl!"
Jay: Were there people yelling at you in the room?
Sarah: Well-I haven't seen it in a theater-theater--but at the premiere everybody was like-Don't be stupid! Everyone knows you don't answer the phone!"
Jay: Well-there you go. We wont tell what happens to you. Maybe you live, maybe you die. We wont give it away.
Sarah: They haven't even told me yet!
Timothy: That just means I'm the only face that nobody knows. Thats how they just say that.
Conan: But its like this big hit movie, isn't it good for you to be in that?
Timothy: No-its not a bad thing. Its not. That doesn't make the holidays-they haven't been bad. All I wan for Christmas is a 100 Million Dollar movie.
Conan: And you get what, like 20% of that? 25%?
Timothy: Its actually much less than you would think Its actually closer to like- Jerry O'Connell, I think he said 10%. I assume thats what I got.
Conan: You're being paid like $200 for this movie. What was it like? everyone else-well-not everyone else-but a lot of other people are established in some way or another-your the new guy--
Timothy: It was like honestly-the first day you show up-everybody there you recognize. Its like the who's who of actors and then who? And thats me. I'm the who.
