Slightly Buggy Form Of Prediction ... |
![]() |
This follows the same guidelines as described in the Birds section ... but I will rehash it for you here. In determining inferences from meetings with birds, insects, animals, et al...you must take in regards it is rather silly to believe in their validity unless the particular spied upon "thingie" is not commonly encountered (not on purpose either) in the locality you are in at the time ...
INSECT | |||
Ant | To be bitten by one forewarns of quarrelling. If ants make their nest near to your home's threshold, prosperity is indicated.
Bee | If one flies into a house, it is thought to bring good luck to the residents (if it is kept "trapped" inside for a short time). To kill a bee is thought to bring bad luck. In some areas, fishermen believe that a sight of a bee flying in the same direction as the boat will help bring them a good catch. A flight of bees is thought to an ill omen according to the Romans though, for it is said that in 48 B.C., the defeat of the army of Pompey by Caesar at Pharsalus was said to be foretold when a swarm of bees settled on the sacred altar.
Beetle | Due to the ancient Egyptians and the scarab, this and other beetles have had fortunate significance. It is a lucky omen if a beetle runs across your path while out on a country walk. The bigger the beetle, the better in the good fortune it will bring. It *must* be understood that we are not referring to the common black - beetle or cockroach, those have a different set of significances.
Cockroach | It is no surprise that this insect is regarded universally with repulsion ... for it is said if it appears where it is not generally seen, it foretells of death.
Cricket | From way back when, this insect is regarded as lucky in all parts of the world. They foretell of peace, prosperity, and domestic contentment. If crickets mysteriously abandon a house which they have inhabited for a long time, illness or death is said to follow.
Grasshopper | These insects are rumored to foretell of good news and travelling.
Ladybug | This pretty little beetle is viewed as a bearer of good news. One bearing seven spots on it's back is considered very lucky indeed.
Spider | To see one in the evening foretells of money losses; to sight one in the morning is a warning of grief; if sighted at noon, it foretells of trouble and anxiety. To find one upon one's clothes or person is an omen of prosperity though. To come upon one that is spinning a web means that a plot is being formed against you. To kill a spider, especially at night, is very unfortunate.
Wasp | >To be stung by one of these is a warning to be on your guard against jealousy and deception. |
