Glorious:

A Word from Glorious:

Choral music brings to mind stately cathedrals and pipe organs and anthems. The Festival of choirs was brought to its birth in 1993, with a view to revive the steadily declining trend in harmony singing, by including 'fun' songs with rhymes ranging from rock and roll to reggae to rap.

The last four years have proved to be a tremendous success with an overwhelming turnout of both participants and music loving audiences. The meeting ground echoes the view that harmony singing exists more in the mind than in the voice.

Thus encouraged, "The Fifth Festival of Harmony- 97' was on.

EMPACS Charitable Society

In August 1992, 50 members of the East Parade Malayalam Pastorate of the Church of South India, Bangalore came together to form this Society. Empacs cncentrates on slum development in Lingarapuram, Bagaluru, Bypanahalli areas of Bangalore with the community entry strategy focussed on rendering assistance to brain injured children. Day care rehabilitation facilities are being extended to brain damaged children at the centre in Lingarajapuram.

Empacs beleives that the environment (both physically and social) holds the key which determines the extent to which an individual's disadvantage turns into an actual disability or handicap. This is why Empacs deeks to combine both curative and preventive aspects in the health care of brain damaged children.

Registered as a Charitable Society under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act of 1960, Empacs has secured exemptions under Section 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, by which all donations made to the Society are exempted from Income tax.

Thought for the Day:" Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, For you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, For you shall laugh. Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man's sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, Fon in the manner their fathers did to the prophets. But woe to you who are rich, For you have received your consolation. Woe to you who are full, For you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, For you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did they fathers to the false prophets." Holy Bible: Luke 6:20-26
