CLAYTON MAXSON CALLED BY DEATH

Long-Time Resident of
Sac City Ill only a
Few Days.
Clayton Maxson, for more than
38 years a resident of this com-
munity, died at his home at 1214
Hobbs street Tuesday of this
week. He had been ill only a few
days and his death was a shock
to a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday at 2:15 at the home and
2:30 at the Baptist church. In
charge of the pastor,Rev.Harry
N.Throckmorton,assisted by Rev.
C.A.Barkholder. Burial will fol-
low at Oakland cemetery.
Thomas Clayton Maxson, son
of William and Charlotte Maxson,
was born in Benton county, Iowa,
June 1,1872 and died at his home
in Sac City April 26,1932,aged
59 years,10 months,and 25 days.
He lived in Benton county until
he was eight years of age when
he moved with his parents to
Huron,S.Dak.Here the family
resided on a farm until he was 21
years of age when he came to Sac
county, which place has since
been his home .For the past 22
years he has been employed by
the firm of W.B.Wayt& Son.
In early life he was converted
and joined the Presbyterian
church, later transferring his mem-
bership to the Baptist church in
which fellowship he has since re-
mained. In 1898 he was united in
marriage to Ida May Morton of
Sac City. To this union one son,
Charles E. was born.
He was a member of the I.O.
O.F., the Ancient Order of Unit-
ed Workmen and for 27 years a
member of the Sac City fire de-
partment.
He leaves to mourn his passing
his loving wife and son Charles;
his mother, Charlotte Maxson;
Clarence, a twin brother at Ear-
ly;a brother John at Lytton;
a sister,Mrs. Mollie Thopmson of
Red Falls ,Minn; a daught-
er-in-law, Mrs.Charles E.Max-
son; three grandchildren,Wilber,
Mildred and Richard, numerous
nephews and nieces and a host
of friends.
