To Her (#4)

Yes, I wrote another one...don't ask me where it came from...so often the poem comes from so deep within myself that I can't tell you WHY I feel it, and why it wound up on the page...but, here it is anyway. You may, of course, notice the fact that this one is a little bit more positive. When love finally does hit the downtrodden, they rarely are equipped to handle it smoothly. I am no deviation from that.

To Her (#4)

She stands before me
I am astonded by her beauty.
I am astonished by the light in her eyes.
I am lost in them.
They surround me.
I am drowning.
May I never need air again.

I tear myself from her eyes,
They hold me so close.
I am still held in her eyes,
What does she see?

Am I a lovely sight to her?
She deserves no less than beauty.
I am drawn to her,
Yet I feel that I will repulse her.
I am not lovely.
Let me flee.
I cannot flee.
I wish to be near her.
What does she see?

I love her
What binds her to me?
Why is she not repulsed?
Why me?
