Princess was born in spring 1983, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, U.S.A. My mother gave her to me when she was barely weaned--So at night, when she was a kitten, she would try to nurse on my ears! She is a mixed breed with blue eyes, Birman type markings, and calico coloring on her right ear. Her tail has seven kinks in it, so she flops it up-and-down like a furry club, instead of waving it like many other cats do. (I’m the only person she has ever allowed to examine those kinks, by the way!) She had one litter of kittens, in 1984. Princess is not a social cat. She prefers to stay “on the sidelines”, away from the noise and bustle of the family. Princess was never around children until she was several years old, when I started my family. I think that is why she prefers quiet places and adults. She will lay down in front of a heater vent, at a quiet edge of the room, and just watch everything--unless it gets too noisy or too “busy”. Then she retreats to the quiet of my bedroom until the house calms down. When she thinks it’s time for bed, she will come get me. When I shower, she often sits and waits patiently next to the tub. I feed her canned food becase she no longer has the teeth to chew the dry. Her favorite flavor is tuna.
