Date Assignment Introduction to Creating a Web Site in HTML Using Notepad

January 12, 1998		 Lesson 1 Your first project is to write WebPages using notepad. Although you may publish these WebPages on the Internet, your assignment requires that you create these WebPages using notepad and save them to your disk. You may choose to write your WebPages about topics that are of particular interest to you.

Your completed project should contain the following things.

  1. Ten WebPages written in Notepad using html code , saved on a floppy disk.
  2. All appropriate graphics files.
  3. Your disk should be labeled with your name, class period and the words "My Website".

Each WebPage should include the following:

  1. Title
  2. Short essay giving information about the topic which you have chosen. It should be written in paragraph form using complete sentences and proper punctuation. Remember people will be visiting sites which you post on the Internet. You will be judged by how well you write.
  3. Internal Links—that is, links to other pages on you website.
  4. External Links—links to sites on the Internet.

  5. A standard footer with a link to your email address and the date of your last update to that WebPage. You can view on of these at the bottom left of this page.
