DEDICATION (of the 1961 Equestrian): "He who has mastered . . . his private thoughts, is master to that extent of all men whose language he speaks, and of all into whose language his own can be translated."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson
For the past fifteen years at Horseheads High School, modern languages have brought to mind one teacher. During these years she has seen the tremendous expansion of Horseheads High, which has only parallelled the revolutionary growth of interest in modern language as a means to world peace and understanding. Her continued effort and perseverance through the years have resulted in the modern languages courses changing from an elective taken by a few college-bound students to a major course with great preponderance and popularity. The latest result of this keen foresight is the new $10,000 language laboratory, which is on a par with many college facilities. It is for this record of prevision in the changing world of education that we dedicate the 1961 Equestrian to you, Miss Fox.
