There is a lot of free stuff for educators on the web and if you've hunted around you've probably found that 90% of the material is useless or you would have to lie to qualify. This list is composed of offers we think are interesting and which you can honestly get because you are a school albeit a small one. Keep in mind that many of these things come from secular companies and you may only find part of their material (eg., posters, hands-on-activities) appropriate to use. If you find something good please E-Mail Us and we will post the information. New additions will be put at the top of the list. If you find a dead link please let us know.

I tend to forget to have the kids practice using reference material...alone that is. Usually I lean over their shoulder and flip the pages of the dictionary or encyclopedia because they're to slow (true confession moment). Print out a few of these reference skills pages. They actually look fun.

If you're looking for basic english or grammar worksheets check out Vol 1, for grades 1 & 2 Vol 2, for grades 3 & 4, Vol 3, for grades 4 & 5 and Vol 4, for grades 5 & 6. These look like good supplements or could even be used as your program. I think we'll do some of these this summer.

Mineral Unit and Posters You have to e-mail for this one. From their page "Mineral Institute provides a variety of teacher materials and posters for use in the K12 classroom. The generaltheme is about how minerals are used in our society. One of the units is about all the materials that are used in building a house and other structures."
JUMP ROPES, posters, videos, and lesson plans from the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart program. For details, call 800/AHA-USA1. I called this number and told them I was a homeschool. The receptionist said that should be no problem and several weeks later I received a call from our local heart association. They are giving the entire package to our homeschool group and I will be in charge of the lending.
