Loves grief

S.C.Jones

If but grief were soft sadness in passing
And all morn tomorrow but constant still
Then loves rent gives not joy everlasting
For love then casts shadows yet not fulfill

But if loves greater cast be thus endured
And weathered fast mid gales of reckless past
Might then calm return seasoned self assured?
Might then love in passing be this our last?

If grief and sorrow felt thus then care not
But if harmony and peace came thereof
Would not all tempest sail our tiny yacht?
Beg not for loves repent, but thine of love

For in loves lost are far greater gains known
Than all grief and all sorrow thus here shown

Loves grief
