<_Cassiopia_> Ok, y'all... here are the rules for the class....
<_Cassiopia_> Please, do not make comments, ask questions, or anything else, in open channel...
<_Cassiopia_> If you have a question, type @ and I will
<_Cassiopia_> call on you.
<_Cassiopia_> If you want to greet someone, /msg them
<_Cassiopia_> There will be a question and answer period at the end, too...
<_Cassiopia_> If we split, I will wait a minute or two
<_Cassiopia_> for everyone to get back together...
<_Cassiopia_> If it looks to be a LONG split, I'll go on
<_Cassiopia_> and the splitters can get the logs...
 @
<_Cassiopia_> Yes, Mukel?
<_Cassiopia_> Logs will be available in a day or two...
I'm rather new to the irc, how can I log this?
Guerison is on IRC
<_Cassiopia_> Mukel.... what program are you using?
 Mirc
<_Cassiopia_> Go to the left top corner, right click, go down to logging, and click... a check should be there if you go back and right click again.
 @
 cool! thanks!
<_Cassiopia_> Yes, pyrotic?
<_Cassiopia_> NP, Mukel...
 how long is the class?
<_Cassiopia_> I never know until I teach it....
<_Cassiopia_> Usually abpout 1.5 to 2 -hours
 oh ok
<_Cassiopia_> Deoends on y'all and how many questions I get asked...
<_Cassiopia_> Ok, let's get started
<_Cassiopia_> The first thing that you can do to incorperate color symbolism into your magick is to get dressed for it.
<_Cassiopia_> Your robes are one of your most important things to consider... (or your lack therof...)
<_Cassiopia_> Not that you HAVE to wear robes... some wear nothing (skyclad) or plain clothes... but your choices affect you.....
<_Cassiopia_> For example, if I was going to do workings for money, I would wear green, gold or white, healing white, blue or silver...
 @
<_Cassiopia_> White is the 'universal' color.... you can wear it for anything.... but other colors have their own specific meanings.
<_Cassiopia_> Yes, pyrotic?
um this is a bit irrelevant to the xact topic but Is it bad to ask fo rmoney? is that why most witches work for money?
<_Cassiopia_> Not really bad... you don't ask for money for no rason, but if you're in trouble, need money for living, need a new job, etc. then it's fine to ask....
<_Cassiopia_> But you can't make a living just burning green candles... ;-)
 ok
<_Cassiopia_> The next thing that you can do is to consider the candles you use in circles.
<_Cassiopia_> Candles are the #1 most used tool in magick... almost every tradition, all the ones I know of, at least, use them.
<_Cassiopia_> Your candles for illumination, on the altar, everything, all help to create a mood for the working, and that's what we use the tools for, anyway. To help us focus our energies on what we want.
<_Cassiopia_> Another important thing to consider is your altar. Most traditions use one, in some form, and so its decoration is important.
<_Cassiopia_> The altar cloth, your tools on it (chalice, pantagram, etc.) all have an influence on the workings.
<_Cassiopia_> Using colors that compliment what your magickal intentions are help to make things more focused.
<_Cassiopia_> Now that the basics are covered, where you would use them, lets go through a few specific examples.
<_Cassiopia_> For the color correspondances, etc. I am using the Raven's Loft, http://nebula.ispace.com/~hatchett/raven.html which is a reference compiled from the works of Scott Cunningham.
<_Cassiopia_> I'll give everyone a second to get the page loaded, then I'll continue.
 @
<_Cassiopia_> Yes, Mukel?
Is it okay if we cannot load the page? do we need it?
<_Cassiopia_> You don't NEED it, but some may be interested to see where I get the information that I'm using.
 k
<_Cassiopia_> Ok, to start with, a simple rune spell for dispelling nightmares... (something, as I have found talking to folks around channel, is pretty big in demand at the moment.)
<_Cassiopia_> What I would use is parchment paper, pretty much the standard, and ink that complimented the intention (which would be black - drawing off negativity, green - protection or blue - healing)
<_Cassiopia_> The ink would be used to either used to write (in runes or letters) the intention - dispelling nightmares - or to write a rune of protection.....
<_Cassiopia_> The paper would then either be put under the person's pillow or burned in an appropriate colored candle. (after being magickally charged, of course... simply writing doesn't make it effective...)
<_Cassiopia_> The second type of spell is a bit more complex... an amulet.
<_Cassiopia_> The amulet will be a simple one... one for friendship.
<_Cassiopia_> The first thing you must choose when making an amulet is your bag color.
<_Cassiopia_> Pink and white are the two best choices here, white being the 'universal' color and pink being the color of friendship.
<_Cassiopia_> The next thing to add is herbs.
<_Cassiopia_> The herbs that are usually used (according to Cunningham) are lemon, loveseed, passion flower and sweet pea.
<_Cassiopia_> Lemon would be MY choice, mostly because it's the easiest to find locally (me being in Florida, home of many, many citrus groves)
<_Cassiopia_> However, if you want to add others, then you can... anything that compliments the ideas of what you are doing is fine.
<_Cassiopia_> The next ingredient is the stones.
<_Cassiopia_> Stones reccommended for this, according to Cunningham, are Chrysoprase, Pink Tourmaline and Turquoise.
<_Cassiopia_> Out of the three, two are pink and one is blue-green, for healing and peace.
<_Cassiopia_> Next thing to do is close the bag. This is usually a two-step process.
<_Cassiopia_> The first step is dripping hot candle wax onto the top. This would be of the colors that are appropriate.
<_Cassiopia_> The second is tying or sewing it closed, with thread in the appropriate colors.
<_Cassiopia_> And your amulet is complete, other than charging it.
<_Cassiopia_> Even in these two very simple workings, the amount of color involved in enormous.
<_Cassiopia_> At almost every step, the color of an object can be important.
<_Cassiopia_> True, you could work entirely in white quartz, white cloth and white candles. Everything would 'work' just as well.
<_Cassiopia_> But the colors and their symbolism are taken from ingrained cultural archetype and when we use them, we unconciously or conciously affect the work. All white takes a lot of work to make your energy focused. All the 'right' colors can make things very simple.
<_Cassiopia_> The last thing I want to discuss before I open up to questions is using colors to add magick to your life.
<_Cassiopia_> This was first suggested t me by an article in the 1997 Llelyn's Magickal Almanac by Edain McCoy.
<_Cassiopia_> LLewellyn's Almanac, I mean (goddess, is that hard to spell!)
 agree
_Cassiopia_ sets mode: +v Bethanny
<_Cassiopia_> One way to do it is to choose your colors for clothing.
<_Cassiopia_> Need a boost of energy? Wear gold or yellow. Want to attract attention? Red. A little hiding necessary? Wear black.
<_Cassiopia_> But this can extend to your home, car, everything.
<_Cassiopia_> want to avoid attracting (unwanted) attention to your car? Buy it in black.
<_Cassiopia_> Want to bring peace into your home? Paint the door blue or green.
 @
<_Cassiopia_> Think of the ways that you can make things better, just by chaging the colors in your home. A blue bedroom for the guests, a little pink in your to spice up the sex life, yellow in the exercise room, brown in the kitchen...
<_Cassiopia_> Yes, Mukel?
More of a statement than a question, I heard that if you are trying to sell your house you should paint the door yellow.
<_Cassiopia_> Yup, that works, to attract money... also gold trimmings or green will work...
<_Cassiopia_> Ok, before opening to general questions, anyone have any questions on this class?
 @
<_Cassiopia_> Yes, interested?
I wanna to know what all colors represent
<_Cassiopia_> interested... that could take all night. Try that site I gave at the beginning of the class.
<_Cassiopia_> It has a fairly complete listing.
<_Cassiopia_> http://nebula.ispace.com/~hatchett/raven.html
and how to use them in different situations
 and applications
<_Cassiopia_> Interested... that was the point of tonight... what you do, magickally, you consider the colors of beforehand.
 @
<_Cassiopia_> Yes, Shado?
sorry for the run on question
 thanks,you just answered my question.
<_Cassiopia_> It's OK...
<_Cassiopia_> Any general question?
<_Cassiopia_> If not, I need to go...
<_Cassiopia_> Merry Part, thanks all
