Year End 2004:
Structures and Mechanisms is our Science
topic. Each grade was given a specific kit and related challenges.
Besides being a lot of fun, many learning skills were
completed.

Grade One: learning five simple machines
and everyday usage - wheel and axle, and the pulley

Grade Four - adapting the wheel and axle
, powering wheel and axle by different means

Grade Five: using different gear sizes and
ratios to move items under control

Grade Six: using wheel and axle, control
movement in different directions
We are starting the stage of self designing of
devices. As they are created, we will post more
pictures.

Being creative, not worrying about being
perfect or correct, respecting yourself and others, being responsible
for yourself and "Safety First" were lessons we stressed throughout
the year. Thanks to wonderful students, two great Aides and one
fantastic volunteer, this, my final year, has been a treasure.
As my elder brother says, "Talk
