and the Theory of Everything, part one
Nested realities and the Cosmic Braille
Deric has used the term "cosmic braille" in an essay.
It seemed rather vague to me, untill Swinton explained that certain principles, like the Pauli exclusion principle, could be said to exist before space arose.
An inspiration was a paper sugggested by DeWayne: "Pregeometric Modelling of the SpaceTime Phenomenology" by Cahill & Klinger
One of the implications of the exclusion principle is that two things cannot occupy the same "space" or energy level.
The Uncertainty principle is also probably in operation before space takes shape.
Space can be defined as a set of relationships between points. Fuller considered the "event" to exist bfore space. That space was a result of various relations between "events".
In the paper by Cahill & Klinger they describe the start of a process to derive the laws of quantum mechanics from a few assumptions.
The random distribution of energy in the early universe gives rise to particles. Because of the exclusion principle, they create the space between themselves.
Another assumption made in xxx is the Incompleteness Theorem. There are implications to their treatment of that which go beyond the scope of physics, and affect psychology and sociology.
One of the primordial phenomena is the quality or emergent order, "enformy", or "negative entropy". (There may be a difference between these concepts.)
After we get a universe up and rumming with these few assumptions, the laws of physics, chemistry, biology, and psychology develop.
The principle of evolution does not then emerge from biology, but biology emerges from it. Switon says: "The neo-Darwinists are mostly just Zoologists". It seems they don't go far enough to satisfy Deric and Swinton.
The model I use after that could be called: "Nested Psychologies".
To continue the development in a method similar to reductionism:
1) reflexes develop (single celled organisms) 2) instincts develop (insects, for instance) 3) drives evolve (lizards) 4) emotions develop ( mammals) 5) thoughts arise (primates) 6) intuition, art, music, rligion (people)
There are some interesting parallels in this six layer model of psychological development: the six Hindu chackras, Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and the six lines of the I Ching.
The way to nest the schools of psychology can parallel these:
1) behaviorism 2) Freud 3) Adler 4) Jung 5) Maslow 6) religion
Placing religion at level six allows us to continue the reverse- reductionism to a set of nested religions. The method cuold be historical, or conceptual, and the results will vary with locale.
