Learner Objectives:

It is the intent of this course to start you on your journey through the World Wide Web (WWW), prepared to read the road map, prepared with adequate provisions. Unlike the highways, the WWW is changing at an exponential rate. This course does not intend to make you an EXPERT at any one WWW browser or technique. Rather, it will prepare you to travel terrain where the road changes beneath you feet, sometimes as you walk! When you have completed this introductory course, you should feel confident that you can handle the most of the terrain. And when you can't, you will feel knowledgeable enough to be able to find help.

Whoever, wherever, at whatever state of current computer savvy, we all began at the beginning, as you do tonight. And when things get over our head, we all find someone to provide Technical Support.

At the conclusion of this course, you should be enabled:

  • To knowledgeably navigate the web, regardless of specific web browser or platform
  • To knowledgeably set up E-mail, browser, and provider information.
  • To use basic HTML coding to construct the start of a web page
  • To understand WWW security issues and begin to build an array of tools
  • To manipulate the basic browser interface, regardless of platform or browser
