FACE TO FACE WITH A MURDERER
Overcoming traumatic experiences

Psalm 91:2,3... Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge.

Jeremiah 1:8... Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.

Well, the Lord can be as close as a breath. I have been several times face to face with a murderer, just a breath away. An individual of whom others were very fearful.
I am the PROOF that the Lord is real and right at our fingertips when we need Him. I had been prepared over the years in the spirit, the time had arrived for practice.

We were in the Ministry, I knew my place in His Kingdom and was familiar with the battle in the Spirit against the enemy, but I had never experienced what happened next.

It was around 7:00 a.m. I was at home by myself, the children were still in bed. I was 8 months pregnant of our 4th child. I had come downstairs after my husband had left for work. I had just started the washing machine and a pail of hot water was standing on the kitchen floor, when a man climbed over an 8 feet wooden fencing, which enclosed our backyard. He came to my kitchen door and pulled it open with force, I stared into the eyes of one who was bewildered. We had met before. He was an ex-convict, and had finished his 8 year jail term for manslaughter, which could as well have been murder. He was also a fierce fighter.

He knew me well and hated me. Our eyes made contact and stayed put while we checked each other's strength. I measured his ableness and concluded that I could not outdo him. Any feeble attempt on my part would be a disaster and only aggravate him more. He knew my strength, which was not physical, but spiritual.

He came closer. His bloodshot eyes, due to the alcohol and fighting, appeared protruding. He kicked over the pail with boiling water, which was standing between us. Now he had come so close, I could nearly feel his breath. I did not move. I knew he came to hurt me, he had killed before and could do it again. One kick in my belly from him would have brought me right into labor.

I stood my ground, not saying a word, my mind on blank, my soul on God. I showed no fear. When he started to lift up his hand towards me, I broke the silence and said: "Herman, do not touch me." I repeated myself in an unnatural calmness. I did not panic. I had no time to think, I had no physical compatibility, but I had the Lord. I could ONLY count on Him, I had no choice. The Lord allowed me this experience as to test my faith, and He knew I could do it. Praise His Powerful Name! I continued: "Herman, if you touch me, God will touch you," pointing my finger towards heaven. Both of us were still standing in the same position.

I knew one thing, Herman didn't even have to hurt me, just his touch would have done him in. It scared me more to know that he could drop dead right in front of me, than being hurt myself by him.

We stood there for a few more minutes, which felt like an eternity to me. Still making eye contact. The Holy Spirit was tangible and Herman must have seen something which I didn't see. His arm went slowly down. Herman dropped his sword, so to speak. He turned around and left through the same door he had come in.

I was not even shaky, I took a deep breath of relief and praised the Lord. I wiped up the floor, got the kids out of bed and continued with my daily chores as if nothing had happened.

I call this the supernatural Power of God.
Thank You Jesus!

Psalm 56:12,13... I will render praises to You, for You have delivered my soul from death.
Proverbs 28:18... He who walks in integrity will be delivered.

It doesn't make any difference who we are; Daniel in the lions' den; the three men in the fiery furnace; Joseph in the pit; an Israelite followed by Pharaoh's Army or YOU with a revolver being pushed into your back. It may make a difference to us, but not to God. He can close the mouths of the lions, direct someone to pull Joseph out of the pit, divide the waters of the Red Sea or even take the bullets out of the pistol. Why not ?

Jeremiah 32:27... Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?

Now, after years I look at this event objectively and only see the battle in the heavenly region. I don't see people, I see spirits and His Holy Spirit using the believers in Jesus Christ as battle field. Let us clear our fields from obstacles, let us put down strongholds in our lives, let us allow this spiritual warfare to end into Victory through our faith in Jesus Christ and our dependency on Him. Let it be to glorify His Name!

Psalm 112:1,7... "Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord."

Are you ready to face a crisis or a traumatic experience? Don't wait until one hits you to find out. Prepare yourself now. Have you taken the time to study the Word of God and applied it to your heart and life? If not, it would be too late then. You will only be doubting instead of using the power of faith and that of the Holy Spirit, which you need so badly. Will you suffer from some sort of psychological side effect, as PTSD, or will you be victorious ALL the way?

Daniel, Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Esther, Jeremiah, Peter and Paul all faced very traumatic experiences, but their faith and trust in the Lord pulled them through. They were heroes with God.
The victory must be there already, accomplished through your study of the Word, by building your foundation and your prayers during previous times. It is only a fool who will compete in a race without exercising his strength and his endurance. Now is the time to develop your faith, to equip yourself with His armor, to gather your tools together and get properly oriented. Faith is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets. This life is but a training school, His Word is your textbook and The Lord is your Teacher. ARE YOU LISTENING ?

Don't wait until you are facing a crisis or an impromptu situation. Be prepared!

Ephesians 6:13-18...

Psalm 99:2,3... The Lord is great in Zion, and He is high above all the peoples,

INSPIRATIONAL

We may forget Him sometimes, but He'll never forget us.
He is always one step ahead, one page further, a breath closer,
a touch away, always in sight, within reach.
He hears our cries, sees our tears, feels our hurts, heals our wounds,
lifts us up, answers our prayer and carries us over hills and through valleys.
