Suggestions of Further Reading
The following list of works is by no means a complete list of references for anti-semitism and The
Merchant of Venice. Rather, it is a short compilation of some works of literary criticism that I have
consulted in the course of drafting these pages. A brief search of any university library system--such
as the Weldon Library of the University of Western Ontario or the Scott Library of York
University--under the keywords of Shylock, Merchant, Jew, and/or anti-semitism, should produce a
more comprehensive listing of available resources.
