The Millenium Collection : Benson Town

I got two invitations from Benson Town area to take out photos in response to the above article. Mrs. Mehkri and Dian. I never had the honour of meeting either, but I have had the pleasure of taking out their family houses which are included below. I did however, have the privilidge and honour of meeting a grand old lady, Mrs. Bathia, the wife of Maj.General Bathia. To sit and listen to her speak in such clarity and recall back to memory the days of her youth. When she came to the house which I visited in her childhood. She remembers that there were only 5 houses in this part of Benson town, and that her compound was the last. Nandidurgh Road was non existant, this was built later to bypass the round-about to go to Mekhri Circle. This house of Mrs. Bathia, has a skylight very similar to Mrs. Mirza's house on Ali Asker road. Was the house built by Ali Asker (Asgher)? A little further up the road towards Millers Road one can find an old stone chapel, which is part of a Convent that has a Girl's Hostel. During my trips around, I met a wonderful gentleman known as 'double n' Bhatt. He has a fantastic collection of antiques that can be seen on the Net.
