Relationships with the Official
Cast:
Ja-kal: Though never really meeting
him in Egypt, Kalia has a deep respect for Ja-kal, and an understanding
of how his life has changed from the happy family life he once had. But,
through this, the two remain at odds, Kal not liking the idea of being
ordered by anyone but the Pharaoh, and Ja-kal not enjoying the fact that
Kalia does not believe in protecting Rapses. Because of this, she sometimes
questions his orders or underminds his ideas.
Armon: She likes Armon. Besides Lyris, Armon's the only one that seems the most sensitive of the group, and she values that, not having very much herself. But, even though she does find him kind of slow sometimes, she tries to forget that and attempts to keep it off of her mind. The thing she values most about him is his abilities in battle. Never has she seen anyone so strong!
Rath: Relationship? What relationship? That's pretty much it. Ever since the two first met in Egypt, they have been at each other's necks. Their constant bickering and shouting sometimes results in the team's downfall, but that never seems to stop it. Sometimes, it gets so bad that others have to actually leave the room to keep their ear drums from popping... They're always questioning each other's ideas, strategies and comments, mostly because Kal feels intimidated by his status and magical abilities. Basically, they don't get along very well.
Nefer-tina: After getting over the fact that Kal damaged the HotRa, her and Nefer-tina have gotten along just fine. Nef, being more adventurous and carefree than the artist is always trying to get her to "lighten up and try something new." Unfortunately for her, it never seems to work. The only problems that Nef has with her is when she volunteers to drive ;)
Kahti: A lover of cute and cuddly things, kalia absolutely loved Kahti. It may not be as mutual, but the cat as well seems to enjoy her company and many a time rests on her lap while the two watch television. The artist's efforts to get Kahti to play fetch have not yet worked.
Scarab: Like all the guardians Kalia has a deep remorce and fierce anger toward the sorcerer. Though the guardians main objective is to keep the prince safe from his clutches, Kalia's goes alot deeper than that. For it was Scarab who she knew betrayed the Pharaoh Amenhotep by taking sides with the Nubians which conquered the palace and the Egyptian throne, and he was the one that ultimately sent her to her death.
Relationships with the Fan Characters:
Lyris: The one person that Kalia truely trusts, probably because she knows her inside and out. Kal met Ly in Egypt after the muse returned from the desert. She was bitter and depressed, but after a few tries, began to trust the artist. Soon, the two developed a bond that went way beyond friendship. They could tell each other anything (Although Lyris still tries to conceal her past from her), and they both enjoy each others company. Through this understanding, Kalia is always trying to play the "little match-maker" between Ly and Rath, whom she thinks would make an adorable couple. When Lyris sacrificed herself, it was like a part of Kalia was gone forever, but she understood why it was done.
Joari: Kalia likes Joari, but doesn't fully trust her. Mostly because she doesn't trust her profession aka. being an Amazon. She understands that Joar is a very honorable person, and she's great to have around what with her wonderful sense of humor, but Kal still feels... unusual around her, like perhaps a person's career outside of the king's court or a contributing member of society shows that they are not entirely honorable. Which is a crock, since Joari has a higher sense of honor than the artist herself, but she overlooks that in most of her decision-making.
Oria: Kalia likes Oria's company, she especially likes her ideas about animals and how they must be treated fairly. Like Rath, Kal doesn't like the idea of anyone using magic, no matter how harmless, and stays her distance when the sorceress casts any spells. Their ability to communicate on a more spiritual level is a great prize for Kal, who would rather sit down to warm drink and talk then run off and save the word.
Daker: Kalia likes Daker, seeing him as the scribe's "Better Half" as it were, but she doesn't trust him, except in battle, when things get rough and they have to turn to each other for back-up. As for the relationship between he and Nefer-tina, Kal finds it amusing, but can't really see the two of them together, much to Lyris's objections.
Yories: Learning of her past, Kalia has no real trust in Yories what so ever, except to back her up in battle. She feels that once a traitor, always a traitor, and when possible actually tries to avoid the girl. Although she tries not to let on that she is, she's actually a little impressed with Yories. She was able to break the shackles of evil and return to be herself, something that Kal thinks that she's just too weak to do if the time arouse. But still, she treats her like a child sometimes, still having no trust and low respect for her.
Devon: As Kalia always says, " Once a thief, always a thief." She has never forgiven him since the time when she had been one of his pickpocketing victims, and not only has she no trust or respect for him, but no patience either. His skills mean nothing to her, because she knows that he got them dishonorably. Unlike the others, whom she trusts to watch her back in battle, she's more concerned with Devon stealing something than defending others.
Athena: Of all the Forgotten Warriors, Athana is the one that Kalia dreads the most. Her forceful and violent manners sometimes drive the artist to raise her fists in anger, when she feels that it is best to use her words. The warrior's arrogant manner and hateful gazes towards her make her feel edgy, and she has no tolerance for that. She neither trusts, respects, tolerates or talks to Athena if she's able to. But through it, she has seen a light in the warrior, for some of her actions are a magnification on herself and how she judges others. Not a light that she likes, but a light all the same.
Akhmet: The artist finds a confidant and friend in the sculpter, finding actual trust in him. But he earned it in her eyes, for the two had to work together in Egypt and Akhmet was nothing short of a wonderful employee and a perfect gentleman. She wants him to find happiness once again, knowing the sting of what can happen when a loved ones leaves you, and hopes him all the best in the future.
Kemet: Out of all the Forgotten Warriors, Kalia doesn't find trust, respect or tolerance of many. With Kemet, it's alot less serious. She doesn't see him as a threat or a menace, she just finds him drop dead annoying. His constant assisting gets on her nerves, and more than once she's blown up at him for practically no reason. Through his helpful manner, she sees a very well-brought up young man that has good morals, but should believe that honor is more important than mere trust.
Shadra: Kalia is a very close friend of Shadra, interested in where she came from and what ner cultural ideas she has brought with her. They both share a witty personality and the ability to take a joke, though Kal finds that sometimes she can be a little too... "ancient" for her. Continuously she has to say things such as, " It's the 20th century, stop talking like a midevil damsel." (This is mostly only while she is in dragon form)
Cleo: Another good friend of Kalia's, though she can sometimes be a bit too angered for the artist. They both hold a dislike for Rath, so they often team together to go at another's defense towards him. Cleo fights with a spirit that Kal's never seen before, which makes for a very good partner in battle.
Khan: Simply, Kalia does not like him at all. You could almost say that she hates him. Though she knows that it isn't his fault that he was taken over by dark magic, the artist feels that if he really wanted to be himself once more he would have found a way to break free of it. In a battle, Khan would probably be one of the enemies that Kal would attack first.
Tiye: Khan's sister, but also a threat in Kalia's eyes. Her arrogant nature and un-ladylike appeals make her an easy target for the artist's insults. Like her brother, she has been taken over by the dark powers of her father, but this doesn't interest Kal at all. She's only thinking about keeping her back watched when up against her.
Karnak: Kalia somewhat resents Karnak for being a thief, but as well finds an unusual trust in him. He harbors the same hatred for Scarab as she does, and she finds that around him she doesn't seem so alone on earth. After hearing his story the artist took pity on him for losing all of his family, but it quickly fled once she knew of his profession and how it came to be with him. To this day she has mixed feeling about him, some positive, others not.
Rathera: To put it in laymons terms, Kal positively can't stand Rathera, and even after being around her still cannot get use to her arrogant, violent ways. She finds no trust in her and dreads the thought of being around her, which she knows the feeling is mutual. Kalia would hope that one day Rathera will lose her negative personality and become more of a member of the group, but until that time you can often find them bickering back and forth somewhere in the Sphinx.
Chantal: Kalia's close cuz from the palace. The artist enjoys hanging around with her, but sometimes feels that they are not that close and should spend some time apart. While they keep each other's back guarded in battle, Kal can't shake the feeling that perhaps if they had been closer back in Egypt then they would have more to talk about in the present.
Rafik: At first meeting, Kalia did not enjoy Rafik's company at all. He was a Nubian, sworn enemy of the Egyptians, she had no intention of ever becoming friends. Despite love found and lost in the past, there was something about this man however that intrigued her so, always able to find some way to know her more than she knew herself. What was suppose to be a lifetime feud very quickly became a permanent friendship which may once and for all close Kal's views on love.
Keh_Ra, Goddess of War: No one would ever expect a Goddess and a mere painter to hit it off, but when Kalia summoned Keh_Ra from the Western gate it began a bond that no one could quite explain. The artist showed the Goddess about women warriors and how strong they could be, Keh_Ra to show her gratitude gave Kal the honor of being High Priestess at her Temple. The two have a trust that cannot be broken.
Zafira: The crazy little kid from South America. Kalia
knows that she only means well, even when she's bugging everyone to death
with Kemet! Most of the time the princess is nothing but a nuissance that
the artist would like to get rid of quickly, other times she's this sweet
girl that Kal can't come to be angry at, but knows she should because the
gal drives her up the wall!
.
Kyle: Kal has mixed feelings over him, but above all
believes he is a talented young man that needs to practice his magic a
little more. While usually calm and collect, Kyle and kalia can get along
very well, exchanging stories of past and present. It is only a matter
of him keeping his sometimes worrisome spells to himself... and keeping
Kal out of his reach while he's driving.
.
Heather: Too rambunctious for Kalia, Heather and her
exchange passings of time together. While the srtist can get frustrated
with the girl's arrogant attitude some of the time, it is simply because
of the fact they are complete opposites. Despite all of this, however,
down-heartedness is not a trait Kalia wished to see in the girl- and so,
if and when Heather seeks comfort, she is always there for her.
