while keeping the tradition alive!

With the holiday season just around the corner, the celebrating
Jubilarians of Assumption College '74 will be sponsoring the annual "Assumption Millenium Trade Fair" slated to be on October 23 and 24 at the Grade School grounds.

The trade fair will offer a wide range of shopping treats like garments, shoes, bags, toys, books, gift items, Christmas decors , household items and ornamental plants.

The fair will also feature several unique activities:
an art gallery with the Antipolo artists who will offer free painting classes for children and sell their works at affordable prices; a showroom of Vigan furnitures, hand woven items and food delicacies; a day care center for shopping mothers and many more.

The
Assumption mission houses and several non-government organizations have lined up products not readily available anywhere except in this fair - fresh produce from Baguio, Pampanga delicacies, Iloilo weaving, and products done by the handicapped, street children and prisoners.

Avoid the Christmas rush and spend a leisurely day in Assumption shopping for bargain items. Eat to your hearts' delight with the numerous food booths selling different cuisines, homemade products, bottled preserves and regional delicacies. And more than ever, don't miss this opportunity to bond with the sisters and old classmates once again!

The fair has for its major sponsor the RFM Group of Companies.
Priority is being given to the alumnae who want to be concessionnaires.

1
st ASSUMPTION CENTENNIAL MISSION TRADE FAIR

he Assumption Alumnae Association in cooperation with High School Class '69 and College '73, will be hosting the First Assumption Centennial Mission Trade Fair on October 17 and 18 (from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. both days) at the Assumption Grade School grounds in San Lorenzo Village, Makati. This will take the place of the annual Assumptuous Bazaar. Being a Centennial Year for our country and Assumption's Centenary Year, the organizers thought of creating a uniquely special event.

The trade fair will have special features such as an ART AND CRAFT VILLAGE with day long craft demonstrations including weaving, jewelry making, carving, origami and ikebana some of which will be created by our very own Assumption alumnae from Japan. Various artists will offer portrait painting services in addition to selling other paintings. As a special treat, these artists will be hosting children's art lessons.

Other trade show special features include a CHRISTMAS VILLAGE, ECO-GARDEN and FOOD PLAZA. The Grade School Family Council will sponsor a DAY CARE CENTER where children will be treated to a day of fun and entertainment together with various educational activities.

For our fair, we will be showcasing products from various concessionaires, as well as products from a variety of Assumption missions in the Philippines such as Baguio vegetables, parols from San Simon, weaving from Sibalom and many more. In addition, we will have goods from our alumnae from Japan, Africa and hopefully other Assumption houses abroad. There will also be products from various communities involved in increasing homebased income such as rural and ethnic communities, prisoners and street children livelihood projects.

The High School and College girls will host some games and provide entertainment that were once part of the traditional Assumption Mission Day fairs in Assumption, Herran.

All the proceeds of the fair will benefit the various Assumption mission schools in the Philippines. If you are interested in participating by putting up a booth, let us know so we can check if any are still available.

Please pass this on to as many of our alumnae. Thank you!
