Acting

California

Driven through the canyons I was
Dazzled by the mountains and we didn't go very far
Close enough to heaven if you
Climb up on a mountain you too can swing like a star

I tried to get inside I bought a
Ticket with my pride and I was gone right out of my head
I went out for a ride to go
Across a great divide and I ended up at home instead

California
I thought I should see
Now I'm back home, yeah
With twelve little pieces of me

I was just a passenger a
Rider on the tremors that were shaking all our beds at night
A visitor a stranger thought I
Might pass for a regular if I just kept out of the light

Tore my heart out from my chest
Mixed it up in my mind with the best freshest pieces of my soul
Chose the ones I loved the most
Drove 'em all down to the coast
Threw 'em in a big black hole

California
I thought I should see
Now I'm back home, yeah
With twelve little pieces of me
California
I dreamed I would find
Some kinda sorta pick-me-up
I got twelve little pieces of my mind

performed by Semisonic and written by their lead singer/guitarist, Dan Wilson

I have theories about acting that might not help a person when thay are young, because it might not help getting the role. I do think that it might help when this person will get older though. It is my belief, so it's fine by me if you don't agree with me.

I think acting involves some soul searching and research. If a character has a certain type of emotion, I try to feel it inside me. The emotion I'm best at feeling is mournfulness. I don't know why I can do actually feel that one the best, maybe because it's such a strong emotion. I also think researching a role is something a good actor does(remember, it's just my belief) Many famous actors study the characters in depthly. If it's a character based on a real life person, they find out all thay can about him or her. If I find something interesting about this character that is a parellel to him or her's outside feelings, I try to add that in. I think it adds depth and realism to the character. I also research what famous actors do to get into their roles. I have found some really interesting things.

Having success in acting will be very slim. It's my dream, but I look at the statistics, and my soul quivers in despair. But I can still have my dreams to guide me through life, and it will hurt if I can't succeed, but I'll move on.

Am I a good actress? I can't really say. Everybody has different opinions on what good acting is. Some people think Leo is a horrible actor, and some people think he's the best ever. Some people think Gwyneth Paltrow is a gifted young actress, while other people think she's an untalented young woman who is only successful because she's beautiful. Some people think Jim Carey is a dim-witted comic actor who shouldn't do movies like the Truman Show while others think he is hilarious, refreshing, and versatile. The list goes on and on. That's why I can't tell you if I'm talented at acting or not.
