CAMP MEETING SCENES.

DUBLIN, VIRGINA

.....The highlight of my year is the week of Camp Meeting. I can get away from many of the things that surrounds us in this world. I can enjoy Christian Fellowship and not have to come in contact with the annoyance of the "Boob Tube." Every night we have "Camp Meeting" services in which I can let go and "make a fool out of myself for the Lord." I enjoy dancing in the spirit. If you really want a week to enjoy, come to Camp meeting.

.....But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

.....This is a part of the "Flag Parade" which depicted the number of countries that the International Pentecostal Holiness World Missions Department has representives in. This ceremony was during the annual World Missions Service at Camp meeting at Dubln, Virginia. The brother standing on the stage on the left of the picture is Superintendent Edward Wood.

.....We have Christian Fellowship and Camping too. Brother Conald Fogus and Sister Fogus brought their greenbeans to camp meeting so that they could get them canned before they spoiled. Brother Alfred Bennett, Sister Bennett, and other fellow campers are helping.

.....This is the Tabernacle as seen from the camp ground.

On work day, my deacon Woody Cox and I pulled the camper down to our campground and parked it in order to be ready for Camp meeting 1998. We are ready and I are trusting God that we will get to attend.

.....Camping at the Camp meeting is a great way to spend vacation. Besides getting away from that TV set, the afternoons are free for wholesome activities. This year Woody and I rode bikes on the New River Trail State Park which is just down the road from Dublin.

.....Part of the congregation just before evening services. The multi-purpose Tabernacle building seats around 1200 worshipers, but you want to come early to get a seat.

The aisle seat on the third row back middle right section is my spot. I want to be where the action is.

Worshiping at the alter is my favorite part of Camp meeting.

A group of canidates for ministers licence ready to receive their credentials.

Every year, we have a new selection of God's Children answering the call for service in the ministry. The group almost always includes a number of Sisters.

Each year, part of one of the services belongs to the children.

The sacred Service of Ordniation on Sunday Morning.

This is the high point of Camp Meeting and is a highly emotional but dignified service.

My friend Conald Fogus, with wife Geniva, are honored in the Retirement Service.

.....Camp Meeting 1998 is history, but it will be long remembered. Expieriencing a tremendous move of the Holy Spirit, many brothers and sisters received a personal revival in their spirits.

.....I hope to have more camp meeting photos here very shortly.

Camp Meeting 2006

.....Frank and Anna's camper was the social scene this year It was the meeting place for a lot of folks to chat and fellowship. They made it a great camping experience. Jonathan and Austin gathered razeberries and Anna baked cobblers. As you see, Jonathan enjoyed his cobbler. Austin is at the top corner of the photo. Frank and Anna Deffibaugh are my Caldwell Neighbors.

Camp 2009

.....It is hard to believe that eleven years have past since I started posting this page. Now Camp Meeting 2009 has come and gone. It had its blessings and its losses. Sister Anna Defibaugh suffered a stroke this year and could not be with us. Also Connie Bowles is battling cancer and not be with us. We missed these good folks greatly.

....But, there were many highlights. Getting back together with our friend and brother Lacey Griffith is always a plus. My grandson Jonathan went back tothe alter and had hands laid on him to reafirm his calling. His frind Brian Richardson also recieved the call. We had wonderful spirit-filled meetings with great preaching and teaching.

.....I made all of the photos below.

.....
.....This is my grandson Jonathan in his suit, Brother Lacey, Jon's friend Brian sitting together. Behind them is a small sampling of the crowd including brother and Sister Hunt directly behind Jon. My wife and Woody Cox can also be seen.

..............
.....This is Brian's father Dr. Kevin Richardson and Brother Hatfield and their families. Woody Cox is in the photo and my wife can be seen behind Kevin's head.

......................
.....The next four photos were made over on the porch of the dorm. The first is Sister Jones who retired this year with sixty years of service.

.....
.....This is the group of ladies that I was fellowshiping with. The dark-haired lady thrid from right is Sister Jone's sister.

..............
.....This is one of our speakers and our teacher Brother Cahill's mother and another friend of mine.

........................
.....This is Brother Cahill who spoke on Tuesday Evening and who taught in the morning classes. His grasp of the scriptures is fantastic. HBe graciously allowed me to amke this photo.

Back at the campground, Woody was studying the Word when I made his photo.

.....There has been some cosmetic changes to the camp ground such as the remodeling of the Tabernacle. But, God is still the same, and the Word is still the same. And, there is still just one way to go to heaven...through the door which is Jesus Christ. God bless, and may we have another year.
