The Beautiful Potts Creek Valley

......Unknown to most West Virginians, West Virginia has at least twelve listed streams that are a part of the James River drainage. Potts Creek, which flows through Waitville and through a beautiful remote valley, has eight West Virginia Tributaries and joins the Jackson River at Covington.
.....Rising from Cove Creek Spring just East of Moncove Lake State Park, Cove Creek flows down the divide past the old Whyle Chapel and its old cemetery where many of the old pioneers of the region lie.

.....Not far past where the little of community of Pedro once stood, Cove Creek plunges into a canyon where it runs though the wilderness. Not too distant from where it emerges from the gorge, it jons with Sweet Springs and is then known as Dunlap Creek. Dunlap Creek joins the Jackson River at Covington, Virignia.
