This a view on Rayburn Mountain, now called Eads Ridge, in Monroe County. The old Rayburn Family Cemetery may not be far from this spot.

My 2nd great parents in this line were John Henry and Mary Martha Rayburn Barr.
My 3rd great grandparents were Henry and Nancy Barnett Rayburn.

This is my 4th great grandfather William Barnett. William came to Threemile from Greenbrier County where he had married Mary McGuire. We believe that family members are buried in the old cemetery above Deadman's Curve.

This is Robert Barnett brother of Nancy Barnett. He married Elizabeth Rayburn. He settled at Rockcastle.

My 4th great grandparents were Henry and Mary "Polly" Burdette Rayburn
My 5th great grandparents were Henry and Margaret Christal Rayburn
my 6th great grandparents were Edward and Margaret Reburn Reaburn
My 7th great grandfather was Joseph Rayburn. Joseph is said to have come to America as a bond servant.

McGrires and Cottles

Mary McGuire's:
parents were:.....John McGuire + Elizabeth Cottle (4/19/1663)
Her grandparents were:....William Uriah Cottle and Ruth.
Note: William Uriah Cottle was born in England and brought to America as a Bond Servant. He had three children to his first wife Elizabeth and a number of others to his second wife "name unknown.. One of the youngest, Nancy, may have been raised in the home of John and Elizabeth McGuire. A son, Joseph, was a Kentucky pioneer. These families lived in what is now Monroe County.

.....It is my plan, now that I have discovered the Cottles, to return to the Monroe County Cemeteries and look for Cottle graves. If i find any, I will try to put the photos of thier stones on the site. These Cottles were also intermarried with the Nickells and the Burdettes.
