On her vacation this past September, WSB Radio employee Cindy Steele-Kilen snapped this

photo of the Piloto from a mooring dock in Cozumel, Mexico. While there, Cindy was told the

true and tragic story of the death of a dock worker back in the 70's, whose head was severed

by a mooring rope in the area where... well in the area where Cindy was standing when she

unwittingly snapped this photo. The brown streak, by the way, IS recorded on the

negative, and is NOT a scratch, a hair, or a film flaw.

Our take? History does repeat, they say.

Sometimes in pictures.

Look out! Even celebrities have time for ghost photography now and then.

Robb Sheik, a guitarist playing for awhile with friends at this Key West establishment,

took this exterior photo of Captain Tony's. (Head's up, Florida ghosthunters!)

Robbie says, "the place has a long, strange history. Looks like Mark, the performer

on the right, has more of an audience than he bargained for." Robb is right,

in addition to the misty, reversed arcs, there appears to be a face in the middle.

See if you can pick it out for yourself.

What cute kids! These are relatives of Ben Reagan, who wrote, "This is a photo I took 12-19-99, at about 1:00 in the afternoon, of my nieces and nephews while they were visiting me. It is not a defect in my camera and no other photos I took before or after were anything like this. I'm not saying that this strange light is a ghost, but I wanted you all to see it and let me know what you think."

Well, obviously, the orange/dark area to the right is a finger or a thumb. But the whispy, white swirl...looks like spirit energy to us! Hauntings and spirit "visits" go way, way up around the holidays, and children are virtual spirit magnets. Now, we're talking about spirits here, which come and go and visit when they please, as oppossed to ghosts, who, in theory of course, haven't crossed over properly and stay earthbound.

Here we have Bill and Julie Wooten's holy ghost. (Forgive me, but there was no way I was passing that one up.) Says Bill: "The photo was taken by my wife Julie with a digital camera. I have other, non-ghostly photos of the nativity. This is not the result of smoke, fog or a steamed up lens. And since this was taken digitally, it's pretty hard to blame bad film without any film!"

Chicago, Illinois ghosthunter Jennifer Taylor took this picture (below) "in front of the entrance to Bachelor's Grove Cemetery in Midlothian, IL, off the Midlothian Turnpike. The 'closed' sign is held in place with a yellow wire but is not seen here. Please let me know what you think of this."

Well, for starters, we think Bachelor's Grove must be the most haunted cemetery in America. There isn't a ghost hunter in Illinois who hasn't been there, and it's not easy to get into at night anymore either (the police there are aware of its reputation).

Secondly, we think the mist formation you see here is just one of the many forms an entity might take. The orb or shield-shaped anomalies are theorized to be entities moving or preparing to move, while the "mist" is frequently photographed forming into something more human-looking. Here the mist is still loosely formed, probably before taking any definitive shape, or before reforming into something more condensed in order to take off. Why does the film pick up the anomaly yet we can't see it when taking a photograph? Most of today's available film picks up light in energy (light) spectrums the human eye can't see.

This photo was taken by professional photographer Brad Hanson during a Rich's dept. store fashion shoot in Newnan, Georgia. Brad tells us, "I shot a polaroid first to check the lighting on the church building. The polaroid of the church is clear as a bell and exposed perfectly. I shot the photo from across the street, standing inside the church's cemetery. The sun was behind me so there is no sun, lens or aperture flare. What you see in this polaroid is a milky streak in the sky coming down across the green asphalt roof, continuing down in front of the church (indicated by yellow arrows). Kind of freaked everybody out on the film crew."

Did you catch that everyone? He was standing in the church's CEMETERY!!!

These photos were sent in by Brian Madaris, who acquired them from a person who was a participant in an archeological dig. The first (above and below - same photo), is a zoom into the grave pit of a Confederate soldier. Brad writes, "I am very skeptical of ghosts, though these photos have me reconsidering my views."

Brad has added indicators to top-most photo. The photo immediately above is sans markings.

Brad also lends these details, "What you see here in this zoom (upper right), is a piece of the glass that was once the viewing window of the coffin. The actual skull of the soldier is visible at the top, but an unusual face appears near his left shoulder area. The eyes, a very detailed nose, and black and grey wavy hair appear very plainly. The comparison of the skull verifies size and it assuredly is not the reflection of someone peering into the grave."

Georgia high school student Tiffany Sinclair tells us, "this photo of my cat was taken after our other two cats had died. One was a kitten. They are buried in our side yard."

We get reports of "ghost pets" time and time again...Tiffany's picture lends an answer to the question of whether or not animals have souls of their own.

Randy Strahl of Brunswick, Georgia wrote: "This was taken at our home when it was under construction. It shows what appears to be a vortex."

People ask us time and time again, "how can there be a 'ghost' in my brand, new house??!!" Consider all the events that might have transpired on the land that home was built on. Sometimes, a new house built on that old, old land comes with a pre-existing ghost or two.
