"Dreamland"

I met you once in dreamland,
two strangers you and me.
My eyes were closed but I could sense
you fondly look at me.
Though not a single word exchanged,
our silent voices spoke.
A yearning pierced my aching heart,
I suddenly awoke.
Was there another time or place
where we had met before?
A special realm where spirits meet,
beyond the heaven's door?

Are thoughts much greater than the world
of human touch or space?
Is there a sphere where lonely hearts reach out,
and souls embrace?
So comforting are timeless dreams,
where minds alone can go.
'Tis quiet as a solemn song
that lifts and binds us so.
Tomorrow we will meet again in dreamland,
you, and me.
And we shall speak our inner thoughts,
and love will set us free.
