THE IMMIGRATION AND REFUGEE BOARD The IRB is an independent administrative tribunal created by Parliament under the Immigration                Act, reporting to Parliament through the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration.
               The IRB consists of three divisions: the Refugee Division, the Appeal Division
               and the Adjudication Division. They are responsible for refugee determination in
               Canada, appeals, inquiries and detention review.

La CISR est un tribunal administratif indépendant, créé par le
                 Parlement en vertu de la Loi sur l'immigration, qui rend compte
                 au Parlement par l'intermédiaire du ministre de la Citoyenneté et
                 de l'Immigration. La CISR comprend trois sections : la Section du
                 statut de réfugié, la Section d'appel de l'immigration et la Section
                 d'arbitrage, chargées de déterminer le statut de réfugié au Canada,
                 d'entendre les appels, d'effectuer des enquêtes et de réviser les
                 motifs de la détention.
